For my first ornament I’ve made two polymer clay ornaments. I used my own Silicone Texture Plates, Large Baroque and another one that was a prototype, Ginormouse Baroque, that we didn’t end up offering for sale. Here’s a process shot: I added the gold with pigment ink, and then baked the ornaments again for 5 minutes.

Shrinky Dink Meets Fairyopolis. I have a new bracelet! It is made using good old fashioned Shrinky Dink. Shrinky Dink has been around for a very long time. It is a plastic that shrinks when it is heated. What is relatively new about it, is that they have Shrinky Dink for Ink Jet printers. The project began with me picking six images from the Fairyopolis triple disk CD. Then I cut my images out. I also measured the location to punch holes on each piece. You need to follow the manufacturer's instructions for baking.

Eventually they are shrunk. All I had left to do was spend a little time joining all my fairies with jump rings. The bracelet is so unique and fun. I'll be doing more with shrink plastic this weekend!

I've been wanting to use my polymer clay jewelry as molds for casting resin jewelry so I went through my jewelry-making library and found I had a copy of Sherri Haab's book, The Art of Resin Jewelry . Sherri's book inspired me to go out and get the supplies needed to make resin bracelets including the silicone rubber compound and the resin. There are lots of types of mold makers and resins so since I'm inexperienced I'm starting with what is readily available in my local area.

I usually shop Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Meiningers in the Denver area. So, first I need to make a mold of my polymer clay bracelet. Based on Sherri's recommendation for mold making material, I purchased Smooth-On Oomoo 30 Silicone at Meiningers. Urmeaza modelarea finala. Modelarea este gata! Brosa se baga la cuptor, aproximativ jumatate de ora la 110 grade.

Handmade Scrapbook Embellishments – Polymer Clay Tutorial. Making your own scrapbook embellishments by hand can be really rewarding. Recently, I’ve been experimenting with polymer clay to make scrapbook embellishments. Things like flowers, leaves and buttons. Although, I can’t guarantee the clay is acid free, you can still use it on pages with digital photos (so you have them backed up elsewhere) greeting cards and also other mixed media and paper crafting projects. There are a wide variety of colours available in polymer clay, including some of the bright colours you see in the examples below. You can also mix them together for even more variety. If you’ve never played with polymer clay before, I encourage you to give it a try. Working with polymer clay is a lot like making cut out cookies or pie crusts. I was talking about the different types of "resists" (also called release agents) you can use to keep your rubber stamp from sticking to polymer clay when you're stamping without ink. A spritz of water is one option, though it doesn't work for all clays (specifically, UltraLight Sculpey gets sticky when wet). Another option is dusting the sheet of clay with powder (such as baby powder, corn starch, or baking soda) before stamping. As I was going over these options one of my guild members asked, "How do you keep the powder from filling in the grooves?
