Children can make their own as soon as they can neatly fold a piece of paper. The steps are included below. Materials: 1 piece 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper scissors rubber cement (optional) (Do not use water based glues or they will curl the edges of your booklet) NOTE: When giving directions, I will explain each step of folding. 1] Fold lengthwise, then open. 2] Fold widthwise. 3] With the paper folded widthwise, bring one 8 1/2" edge up to the middle and fold. 4] Bring the other 8 1/2" edge to the middle and fold. 5] Open the paper so it is only fold once widthwise. 6] Gluing is optional, but I find it gives a more finished look to the booklet. 7] Looking at the picture above, notice I wrote the word FRONT on one section. 8] Finally, fold the booklet in half, so the section with the word FRONT is on top.

simple spring basket: how to

I can't remember a March when it actually felt like spring, but here we are with no snow on the ground and birds by the thousands filling the skies. This little basket is adding a sunny touch to my daughter's room... filled with a raffia nest and wooden eggs from her play kitchen. It's the perfect craft for this first weekend in spring... quick and easy to whip up with only basic sewing skills needed. It would also make a great basket for Easter or a sweet little party favor container. I kept mine very simple, but you can think of these as little canvases to embellish with your own style. This is what the front and back pieces look like at this point. Continue whip stitching around, but leave a space at the bottom for stuffing. Shelly xo. Felt Flowers (Sunflowers) These were so fun and easy to make.

I admit they took a little time, but not too bad. So if you want to make one of your own keep reading! Start by cutting a circle for the center (about 2 inches). Next cut your felt squares, about 18 of the large and 12 of the small. Cut you squares into petal shapes. Now fold the sides of each petal in and sew into place with a couple of stitches. Continue all the way around making sure they're really close together, even overlapping a tiny bit.
