With the help of the architect Leon Djinain the Neo-Renaissance building of the today’s museum Galiera is raised and it is open six years after the death of the duchess in 1888. Twenty years after that the museum is finished the historian Maurice Leloire founds “Société de l'Histoire du Costume”. He promised to give his full collection of 2 000 historical clothes, but only on condition that they will be kept in the museum of the fashion in Paris.
