The company responsible for TV series such as LOST and Fringe, as well as movies like Mission Impossible 3 and the new Star Trek reboot, will soon be able to pursue a story more in line with its namesake. Sources at THR are reporting that Bad Robot has acquired the rights to the graphic novel Boilerplate: History’s Mechanical Marvel. The novel tells the story of Boilerplate, purportedly the world's first robot who came about in the late 19th century and had grand adventures along the likes of great historical figures like Teddy Roosevelt before disappearing in a war (for those of you about to start searching Wikipedia for the true story of Boilerplate, let me put your fears to rest: your history teachers did not fail you, because no such robot exists).
