While many people are quick to point out understanding mobile context is key to delivering a great mobile experience, few define context explicitly enough to make it actionable. That's why I'm always excited to find concrete insights into how people are using mobile devices. In its simplest form, context is the circumstances under which something happens. For example, desktop computers are most often used: at a desk (in an office or home); with a persistent connection to power and the network; in relative privacy; from a seated position; and so on.

This is the latest platform out from Total Immersion , it’s an augmented reality mobile commerce app created specifically for eye wear brands and retailers. The app uses the iPhone 4′s front facing camera to deliver a facial tracking system allowing users to “virtually” try on glasses (augmented reality style) through their iPhone 4. The platform has the ability to serve up endless frame combinations that are integrated into the apps mobile commerce piece, so you to buy directly through the app, or find the closest store stocking that particular fame. It’s also socially integrated so your friends can pass on approval in real time before you buy in-app or offline.
