As an exchange student in Argentina, you will experience what it’s like to attend high school with your Argentine peers and receive the feast of cultural immersion, allowing you to gain a new perspective during your academic adventure abroad. Throughout the school year, there are optional trips of which you can join and see more of Argentina. The price of these excursions is not included in the price of the program and determined about a month prior to the trip. Estos animales en la tierra son lentos, en el agua son muy rápidos, ágiles y aparte son unos excelentes nadadores. Las tortugas marinas pueden llegar a una velocidad de hasta 35 kilómetros por hora en el agua y se ha registrado que la tortuga Baula o Laúd puede bucear hasta 1000m de profundidad. Durante la época de reproducción es muy común verlas en las playas y costas arenosas en grandes grupos en el caso de las arribadas o solitarias, enterrando sus huevos que se incuban a una temperatura ambiental.
Después de 45 a 65 días las crías (las tortugas bebé) rompen el cascarón y salen hacia la superficie de la arena. Luego se dirigen rápidamente al mar donde continúan su ciclo de vida. Por esta razón es urgente cambiar de actitud hacia nuestro entorno para así conservar todos los recursos y en especial a los animales que como las tortugas corren el riesgo de desaparecer. Educational Program. Core teaching staff The JVRP is staffed by well-experienced archaeologists and specialists, all of whom participate in the educational program supervising students, advising, and leading tutorials and specialized lectures.
Students are under the immediate supervision of the Director and three supervisors. The typical student : supervisor ratio is 3-4:1 for enrolled students. Considering the 6 additional staff members who provide individual instruction, lectures, and tutorials throughout the season, the effective ratio is closer to 2-3:1.
