Creative industry - Knowledge Innovation Mapping (KIEM) The Creative industry - KIEM programme aims to encourage and facilitate public-private partnerships in the domain of the Creative industries. Senior researchers can apply for funding via KIEM on behalf of consortia of companies and researchers. Purpose KIEM aims to promote and facilitate partnerships between knowledge institutions and private parties, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

KIEM enables consortia (consisting of at least one researcher employed at a Dutch University and at least one private partner) to develop sustainable partnerships. KIEM funding can also be used to further articulate and help answer questions put forward by private parties. An important condition of KIEM is that applications fit within the framework of the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda. Strategy Publication Creative Industries Strategy The Technology Strategy Board's new Creative Industries Strategy (pdf) was published in September 2013. This sets out an ambitious plan for innovation and growth in the creative media sectors over the next three years.

Alongside the Strategy, the Technology Strategy Board officially announced funding programmes worth £26m. This major new investment is intended to boost innovation and growth for the UK's creative and digital businesses.
