The Doctor's Cuddliest Companions

As said by many others, the image is quiet old, so thus only goes up to Rose. So from left to right that's Susan, Vicki, Dodo, Polly, Victoria, Zoe, Liz, Jo, Sarah Jane Smith, Leela, Romana I, Romana II, Nyssa, Tegan, Peri, Mel, Ace, Grace (from the 1996 TV movie) and then Ten, Rose and K9. Is it wrong I know that from memory? As well as Barbara, the other notable absences are Katerina and Sara, whose statuses as proper companions is debatable, but I think both count (of course, they may not be shown as they are dead). 5/18/10 4:51am

Your Favorite Science Fiction Yarns, Reinvented as Kids' Books

http://io9.com/5711525/your-favorite-science-fiction-yarns-reinvented-as-kids-books/ Okay, these are just TOO cool. Forgive me I can't resist, after seeing this today I had to share my own image. I made this back in April. At the time I wrote: (This is) "In honor of Stephen Moffat new series head of Doctor Who, and writer of one of my favorite episodes" The Empty Child". While I am not sure why this image popped into my head earlier this evening, I hope that in some alternate universe, somewhere,in space and time, Doctor Who stories are told as Dr Seuss would have intended." 12/10/10 10:46pm
I'm so enamored of the line work popular in french illustration similar to no.6. It's... what is it, sensual? There's little variation in line thickness, but so many deft, extended curvilinear marks. Of course it wouldn't matter to me as much if it weren't being put in the service of depicting bad-ass spacemen. No.' http://io9.com/5683759/1970s-french-art-from-classic-science-fiction-books/
