The Perfect Gift: Yarn Ball Bookmark

Created by Jane from See Jane Blog . Edited by Amy Christie . Has the weather turned cold where you live? In my neighborhood, temperatures have dropped and my instincts are to spend the day cozied up with a favorite book and favorite mug full of hot cocoa. Are you the same? I’m sure you have many fellow book worms in your neighborhood, so I thought it would be fun to create a charming little bookmark that would make a great anytime gift for anyone that needs a little fall comfort. http://www.designmom.com/2012/10/the-perfect-gift-yarn-ball-bookmark/

Fun with Foam Printing - Easy Tutorial

I loved this idea because not only can you recycle these horrid polystyrene containers, but the process is really simple. You could even use tracing paper and trace your design so you don't even need to be able to draw. You could make a whole series of cards like this or just a colorful print to hang on your wall and cheer up the place. Materials needed: Foam or polystyrene container pencil paint or ink small roller 1. http://www.totalartsoul.com/blog/2549-fun-with-foam-printing-easy-tutorial.html

My daughters and I were talking one day as we played hopscotch about how to make chalk and I thought to myself, let’s try it!

15 DIY crafts you need to make right now

http://www.studentbeans.com/student-money/a/15-diy-crafts-you-need-to-make-right-now3951.html It's cold, it's raining and quite frankly, it's utterly miserable outside at the moment. So stay in! But then it hits you. It's not that great inside either. You're young, so you haven't got all of that furniture and all of the little decorative trinkets that accumulate over time, and if you have, you haven't got nearly enough.

{Valentines day} pixelated popup card

By Kate on February 6, 2012 I ‘ve been scratching my head trying to come up with a card for my hubby {AKA the non-romantic type }. I finally decided to make this pixely popup heart card! They are really minimal (which I love) and take about 20 minutes to make (that includes the card, insert and envelope). You can even make some pixely confetti to put inside the card (if you are a big kid like me!). Full instructions and printable templates below!

First, examine your tape strips to make sure the edges are completely sealed along the canvas. Then, use your paintbrush to cover the canvas in white paint, being careful not to disturb the tape strips in the process. Be sure to cover the canvas completely — we applied two coats for good measure. Once you've finished painting, let the canvas dry. Be patient with this step, since removing the tape before the paint is fully dry could mess up your design. http://www.refinery29.com/diy-paint-project?page=4
<img src="http://s3.amazonaws.com/manmadediy-uploads-production/photos/3235/typeo-feature.jpg" alt="created at: 12/07/2010" width="496"/> This year, I vowed to only make or buy handmade holiday gifts for my friends and family, and I've kept to it so far. But wrapping these gifts in commercial paper didn't seem to make much sense, so I wanted to create some handmade gift wrap to match. I happen to think a gift wrapped in newsprint is actually quite attractive, and love the look of text on a package, but wanted to put in a little more effort. So I came up with a cool option that's clean, masculine, and maintains the typographic look of the newsprint.

I'm sure you've come across Fred & Friend products before at your local indie store and might not have even known it. Last weekend I was cruising around town and stopped at an indie store only to find one whole corner of the place dedicated to Fred & Friend products. It was heavenly. I stood there for probably more than a half hour laughing and checking out all their cool stuff.

How To Transfer Prints To Wood: An Awesome Photography DIY Project

One thing I love about my family is that there never seems to be a shortness of creativity floating around. My wife Kristin works with her mother Lori running a website over at Katie’s Rose Cottage and this project was really just right up their alley. At the time of writing this article Kristin is less than a week away from giving birth to our first child and son Isaac. It’s almost a guarantee that by the time you read this I will be a father! So suffice it to say that Kristin has been doing quite a bit of nesting to get ready for baby Isaac.
