Doing Business in France Part IV. You may have noticed that we didn’t mention Charts of Accounts yet or U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). There’s a reason for that, as you’ll see in Step #6. Step #6: Make sure the solution you choose is compatible with the French Plan Comptable as well as US GAAP and IFRS.

For other countries, it’s enough to make sure accounting software can handle U.S. GAAP and IFRS, but not in France. Therefore U.S. companies operating in France must report in both U.S. Step #7: Look for a solution that can provide real-time &s using both U.S. & French GAAP, including currencies handling.
