Sewing Kit In A Jar | {Fun.kyti.me}

Hello everybody! Mother’s Day is coming closer, and I was wondering what all these wonderful women, who run their ( little) successful family (-business), would want for Mother’s Day. You guys probably think “dammit, when is she going to buy some new fabric!”… I am sorry guys, still having leftovers from my birthday in a suitcase project (which btw got featured at Apartment Therapy today). The pictures should be self-explanatory. To pimp up the jar a little, I made a silhouette stencil out of paper ( Download ) and then spray painted the cut out.

keiko lynn: Hair Tutorial: braided 'do

I know I said I would post this hair tutorial yesterday, but obviously I'm a no good liar because today is not yesterday, it's today. This hairstyle is basically the same thing as milkmaid braids, only modified to up the volume and lessen the big part in the back. Pigtails or regular milkmaid braids make me look like I'm balding, as I have a wicked scar in the back of my head. I would recommend doing this in a mirror and checking the back to make sure it's all neat and tidy as you go, because I did not and it's a little (or a lot) messy in the back. I redid it before heading out and it looked much better, so make sure you use a mirror!
After many requests, I finally made a tutorial on how to tie a simple head scarf. It's really, really easy. I did this without looking in the mirror, so that should tell you how easy it is. Let's get started! Fold the corner down to about the middle, and then fold over again (but not all the way to the edge, because you want it to be a little thicker).

Recycled Craft: The T-Shirt Necklace

1. Lay the shirt on a flat surface; cut off the hem and discard. Then cut the body of the shirt horizontally into strips approximately 3/4 of an inch long. (They will actually be loops.) 2. One at a time, pull the loops open and stretch until the fabric starts to curl.
The origami box is simple to make, and can be used to hold other origami pieces. Or important stuff, like candies. This origami box is also called Masu, which is Japanese for a square wooden box. Easy Origami Box Instructions - How to make a Simple Origami Box

I have a lot of necklaces. It's true. Since tucking them away in a jewelry box meant navigating through a snarly scary mess of a knot, I started pinning my necklaces up on a hideous plain cork board .

As any makeup artist will tell you, “It’s a crime not to prime!” And this is especially true when it comes to eye makeup primers. The signs of not using one are easy to spot — smudged, creased eyeshadow and runny eyeliner, anyone? Don’t be an eye makeup offender and give one of these top-rated primers a try. You know it has to be a good celebrity hair makeover to get me to post on Hair On The Brain! I just couldn’t ignore Anne Hathaway ‘s major chop.
