Beautiful rugs aren't hard to find, but sometimes they're just not exactly what you're looking for. Or maybe the one you really love is just not in the budget. I've been lucky with two vintage kilim rug finds and also have a fun graphic rug from IKEA but still have some bare floor space that I've been wanting to cover. I've also always wanted to try and DIY a larger scale rug that wouldn't fall apart or wear out in a few weeks, so I decided to jump in head first with a woven rug.

It’s funny, when I work on the majority of my clients, I extend a wash of color from all over the lid out to the end of the brow and up to include the crease. But when I do my own makeup, I only shade in the lid. Is it a preference thing or a case-by-case basis? Does it depend on the time of day or the outfit or mood? Yes to all! Still, I wanted to do a side-by-side experiment with the same eye and the same single shadow color to draw a personal conclusion and open it up to our TBD readers for your opinion.
Last month I did a makeover story with Kelsie and had many requests for a maiden braid tutorial. Yesterday she came in and we photographed these simple step by steps. Kelsie has extremely long and thick hair, but anyone with shoulder length or longer can do these braids (see my photo below for an example). Steps 1-2: Braid two strands on each side of a center part. Steps 3-5: Wrap braids around the crown of your head and pin in place with one pin each.
