Feel the rainbow! Artist Gabriel Dawe is showing his incredible new installation that just opened to the public last October 6 in Como, Italy.

Feel the rainbow!

As part of Miniartextil, an annual exhibition of contemporary art, Dawe created Plexus no. 19, a stunning thread installation that’s beautifully spread across two balconies in the atrium of a historic villa. The early 19th century neoclassic house, called Villa Olmo, was acquired in 1924 by the municipality of Como and is now open to the public only during cultural events and art exhibitions like this. This year’s Miniartextil exhibition is called Agora, taking from the Greek word that describes an important public place where people come to share ideas. The visitor is invited to not just look at the artwork but to be actively involved in it.

Plexus no. 19 consists of two thread structures streamed across an upper and lower balcony that is meant to be experienced from different angles or at different times of the day. Custom Corset Pattern Generator. PIKACHU PLUSHIE PATTERN. This is a Pikachu doll I made for my daughter.

PIKACHU PLUSHIE PATTERN

Even though I've been crocheting for 35 years, this is the first time I've ever tried to write out a pattern for someone other than myself to follow, so if anything is confusing, please let me know I'll do my best to fix it :) About 4 oz. WW yarn in Yellow About 1 oz. WW yarn in Black Small amount of brown WW yarn Either small bits of red felt or red yarn for cheeks two black eyes or black buttons (half inch) fiberfill stuffing Yarn needle F hook Gauge isn't really of a concern here.

In my work I tend to prefer joining rounds with a slip stich, if you prefer to use the 'amigurumi' style of continuous rounds with stitch markers, that also works well. Number in () at the end of each rnd indicates the total number of stitches that should be in that round (or rounds). When working dec (decrease) stitch, it is helpful to use the 'invisible' decrease by working the decrease in the FRONT LOOPS ONLY. Using Yellow. Charmander Plushie. Ok, well.

Charmander Plushie

After many requests I finally managed to get around to making a Charmander. I know the pictures are terrible, but hey I'm not a photographer and neither my camera OR the weather are cooperating at the moment. SQUIRTLE. This is a little squirtle I recently finished for the girls.

SQUIRTLE

It took me longer than usual, due to the fact I have a bad infection in my eye, which causes my eye to water constantly, making everything blurry all the time. It should clear up in a few days but it's been really a pain trying to work with blurry eyes. LOL (if you click on the picture, it should give you the full sized image) Here's the pattern, and like with the Pichu, my pattern tester is still out of town for at least another week possibly more, so this one hasn't been tested by anyone but me.

I've tried to make sure it's complete and error free, but if you do run into anything at all, let me know and I'll make changes asap. :) Enjoy! Squirtle WW yarn approx 3 oz of cornflower blue, 1.5 ounces of med. chocolate, 1.5 ounces of tan. Gauge isn't very important here. Numbers in ( ) at the end of each round/row indicate how many total stitches should be in that round/row. Using blue: Rnd 1: 8 sc in Magic Ring (8) F/O. Bulbasaur pattern by Whitney Ruth. Glitter Mint: diy. One day I was rummaging the clearance aisle at the craft store and came across this Candle Painting Medium.

Glitter Mint: diy

I had never heard of candle painting before and I never really thought to paint candles, but it can be done easily and makes for a nice personalized gift. I've seen people just use straight acrylic on their candles and it worked out fine. The candle painting medium helps the acrylic adhere to the candle a little better. I liked the way they turned out, simple designs and colors to brighten someone's day this holiday! Materials: Candles (pillars, candlestick, votive any candle not in a jar or container), Candle Painting Medium, acrylic paint, paintbrushes, rubbing alcohol Directions: 1.Clean off the candle using rubbing alcohol, there was some oily residue on my candles even though they where new and wrapped when I bought them 2.

>>The paint comes out slightly opaque and may require a second coat. True Blue Me & You: Doable Unique DIYs.
