The intern will work closely with the Sinfonietta’s Production Manager/Librarian to produce concerts at Symphony Center, Harris Theater for Music and Dance and Wentz Concert Hall. Sample duties include: 1. Assisting in preparations for concert productions, including organizing equipment for rehearsals and performances, and communicating with guest artists. 2. Organizing, cataloging and maintaining archives of recordings and program notes. 3. Ideal candidates will have a desire to learn about concert production and an interest in the performing arts. Days/Hours: Preferred candidates should be available to work approximately 5 hours per week plus all rehearsals and concerts. Salary: This is an unpaid position. Interns assist with our magazine, Children’s Voice, academic journal, Child Welfare, books, and other publications. In addition to getting hands-on experience across the publications department, the intern will research and write several articles for Children’s Voice. This is a great opportunity for students who already have some communications experience but are looking to have a solid writing piece published. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills are necessary. The ideal candidate will be a junior or senior undergraduate journalism student with an interest in editing.
