Facebook’s acquisition of Instagram reminds me of Google’s acquisition of YouTube — buying a whole different kind of engagement and interaction medium from their core offering. Google had failed to make an impact in online video. Facebook’s mobile-social photo offerings are pretty weak. If Facebook does indeed leave it alone, I am pretty sure Instagram can continue to grow without worrying about building a business model for now.

The Singularity Is Near - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Singularity Is Near: When Humans Transcend Biology is a 2005 update of Raymond Kurzweil 's 1999 book , The Age of Spiritual Machines and his 1990 book The Age of Intelligent Machines . In it, as in the two previous versions, Kurzweil attempts to give a glimpse of what awaits us in the near future. He proposes a coming technological singularity , and how we would thus be able to augment our bodies and minds with technology. He describes the singularity as resulting from a combination of three important technologies of the 21st century: genetics, nanotechnology, and robotics (including artificial intelligence). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Singularity_Is_Near

This cover of I, Robot illustrates the story "Runaround", the first to list all Three Laws of Robotics. The Three Laws of Robotics (often shortened to The Three Laws or Three Laws ) are a set of rules devised by the science fiction author Isaac Asimov and later added to. The rules were introduced in his 1942 short story " Runaround ", although they had been foreshadowed in a few earlier stories. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Laws_of_Robotics
The Terminator is a 1984 American science fiction action film directed by James Cameron , co-written by Cameron and William Wisher Jr. and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger , Michael Biehn , and Linda Hamilton . The short version is that I'm moved to an advisory role at Eagle Eye, the new star on the mobile tech scene which recently attracted an investment from Sir Terry Leahy, Bill Currie and Iain McDonald. Before that, I started the incredibly successful, AdMob (now part of Google) the mobile advertising network, in Europe as its Managing Director. I'm also the ex-Global Chairman of the Mobile Marketing Association and an occasional blogger at MobHappy.
