Wall-E Life-Sized Cake | Film. Eva? No, A WALL-E Computer Case Mod. We've already seen Gamecube WALL-E, LEGO WALL-E, paper WALL-E, and wooden WALL-E, so it was only a matter of time before somebody went and case-modded the handsome little devil. This project took 18 days from this Russian guy to accomplish. It all has began after he has watched that cartoon. An idea sparked thru his head "I want to build such thing to hold my computer stuff in it". A solid-metal Wall-E computer case, each detail carefully cut from the metal sheets processed and put in place. Nice. I posted a couple more pictures of the finished product after the jump, but if you hit the link you'll be magically transported (thank you, internet!)

[INFOGRAPHIC] Sitting down, which most of us do for at least eight hours each day, might be the worst thing we do for our health all day. We've been preaching the benefits of stand-up desks for a while around here — and no one needs this good news more than social media-obsessed web geeks. A recent medical journal study showed that people who sit for most of their day are 54% more likely to die of a heart attack. And our readers are receptive to the idea, too. In fact, in a recent poll, three-fourths of you said you already used a stand-up desk or you'd like to try one.

You know how people sometimes say that jazz is the only truly American art form? Animated GIFs are like the jazz of the internet: they could only exist, and be created and appreciated, online. That said, PopTart Cat is not exactly on par with Thelonious Monk. But photographer Jamie Beck and motion graphics artist Kevin Burg may have finally found a way to elevate the animated GIF to a level approaching fine art, with their "cinemagraphs" -- elegant, subtly animated creations that are "something more than a photo but less than a video.

" Here’s one of my favorites: The pair was inspired to create these cinemagraphs while preparing to cover Fashion Week this past February: "We wanted to tell more of a story than a single still frame photograph but didn’t want the high maintenance aspect of a video," they told Co.Design via email. So why did Beck and Burg choose the GIF format, rather than something more flexible like Flash? [See more cinemagraphs at From Me To You and Coco Rocha] Funny Body Art. P120810CK-0114. Up-Inspired Floating House (14 photos) Our awesome partners over at National Geographic sent over these incredible photos, as they just wrapped up creating a real-life version of Pixar's animated hit film Up. It's pretty amazing what human beings are capable of... Yesterday morning, March 5 at dawn, National Geographic Channel and a team of scientists, engineers, and two world-class balloon pilots successfully launched a 16' X 16' house 18' tall with 300 8' colored weather balloons from a private airfield east of Los Angeles, and set a new world record for the largest balloon cluster flight ever attempted.

The entire experimental aircraft was more than 10 stories high, reached an altitude of over 10,000 feet, and flew for approximately one hour. The filming of the event, from a private airstrip, will be part of a new National Geographic Channel series called How Hard Can it Be? , which will premiere in fall 2011.
