PSYNOPSIS

http://psynopsis-english.blogspot.com/ I've been brooding... about London. It's an incredibly inspiring, vibrant, beautiful, exciting and BIG* city – and even after nearly 10 years the place still often is a mystery to me.** So I've been thinking... Why not ask others? What they love about their city, where they like to go… ( c'mon, hand over the insider tips! ). My first interviewee is Sherin – not only because I love her and her blog , but also because I know she's got the stamina to do 6 press days in a row when my limit is 2.*** So the girl knows places.
On the surface, Ryan McNamara's latest exhibitions looks like a bizarre collaboration between Jim Shaw and Ryan Trecartin with floating heads and hyper-expressive characters. McNamara deftly presents his chaotic vision through a mixed media installation which serves as an ongoing performance within the gallery. For the initial weeks of the show, McNamara interacted with visitors and used this fluid collaboration to cull material and images. http://purple.fr/diary/

Captivated by the country’s rapidly expanding economy, large population and seemingly insatiable appetite for luxury goods, global fashion brands have focused their efforts on the Middle Kingdom, opening glittering stores in megacities like Beijing and Shanghai, as well as fast growing middleweight cities like Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shenzhen and Tianjin, and hosting high-profile public relations events, from exclusive VIP dinners to famously large-scale productions like Fendi’s runway spectacular on The Great Wall. And judging from recent figures, the results have been strong.

Sweater by A.P.C., Jacket by Barbour, Jeans by Acne, Glasses by Moscot This is my go-to outfit at the moment when I don't feel like wearing anything else at all or when I am in a hurry. The Barbour jacket and Acne jeans are the essentials and I just swap tops and shoes from day to day. Ever since I got the Barbour, it's probably my most worn item. It shields against wind and rain, has big pockets to carry all my little things (camera, phone, wallet) and goes with almost anything else in my closet.

Playlust

http://www.playlust.net/wp/ Published 2012-04-12 12:08:05 in NOW I just love her big smile & great sense of style. She always reminds me of the old Carmel Snow quote: elegance is good taste plus a dash of daring. Is this L.A? Paris, New York, Rio? Watching the sun go down with a long drink at newly opened concept store, restaurant, and semi-secret place-to-be, Times , you easily forget you’re actually sitting in a former garage in downtown Zurich.
It's finally temperate enough outside that you can store that gross puffy thing you've dragged around all winter and graduate to a stylish spring coat. Of course, it's still not exactly warm , so scarves, sweaters, and hats come in handy, too. Model Ruby Aldridge, captured in Paris by Altamira , pulls off the look, as did Maritsa K., shot in Istanbul for Maritsa.co (shown). Look out for lots of cropped leather jackets, stripped-down trench coats, and thick blazers in this week's style roundup. Happy Friday!
