Still Life Still Alive | Home » Inspiring Artists, Inspiring Projects 1 November 201060 Comments Alexa Meade is a 23 year old D.C. based artist who is developing an aesthetic that is playfully and skillfully combing paint, portraiture, photography and performance. The finalized work is one that is beautifully engaging, temporary and colorfully alive. The initial experience feels a touch kitchy with it’s aesthetic trickery but once past understanding the illusion the work is quite alluring. The Feather Bender | My ideas | Dlog. Dandelion wine (Also Lilac wine) May 17, 2012 Last year I made a 5 gallon batch of dandelion wine. (2 cases or 24 bottles.) I learned much from that. It was actually a successful batch, which is a surprise considering it was my first “wine.”

The recipe/process is pretty simple really. So you see, the hardest part is waiting. This year, 10 gallons! If you know me, you won’t be surprised that I am looking forward to designing the label for this year’s wines. Note: The two 1 gallon jugs to the right in the photo above are lilac wine.

More soon. Baby! May 16, 2012 I am going to acknowledge the fact that I haven’t posted here in a looong time by simply remedying it. We had a baby! We currently sleep no more than 3 hours at a time. Every day is also father’s day. Just Married! May 10, 2011 Okay. If you want to see more photos of the wedding and the party, here is the wedding website.

PLACE. Papergirl Portland. The Project | Papergirl Portland. Papergirl is an all-inclusive participatory, analogue, non-commercial, and impulsive art distribution project for artists and enthusiasts. It is intended to take art distribution out of the galleries and into the streets, via direct delivery to the public in the style of the American paperboy. Papergirl is currently taking submissions, and will do so until August 19th, the project’s launch date. After the deadline date, distribution begins. Pieces are distributed (rolled and banded) indiscriminately to passers-by on the street, in an effort to broaden the public’s consciousness of local artists and to give artists a wider, more liberated venue to exhibit themselves.

The project was founded in Berlin by Aisha Ronnigerand has been carried out every year since 2006. The initial impulse for the project sparked from the tightening of a German law that equated sticking up posters in public places with graffiti. Further Factoids which were too difficult to add in the little essay: Berto. Explodingdog 2011. GALLERY. Glinga - the design portfolio of Daniele Volpin.
