Prof. YM's Photostream. Electrobite an Electric Wheelchair Conversion. My Wife Kyrsten and I built the Electrobite in my shop "Form & Reform" in West Oakland. Kyrsten and I started on this project Aug 2009 and finished it just in time for Burning Man . We took an old electric wheel chair and made it into a prehistoric creature known as a trilobite. I enjoyed working on another great project with my wife (these projects keep us on our toes, I hear building a house together works too). This is the 3rd car of 5 we have made the 1st being the SS Alpha Fox and the 2nd was the giant iron snail car The Golden Mean. Following is the basic process by which we built this amazing vehicle. My tatted mask is made with cotton thread, swarovski crystals and a few small pieces of wire. You will need an intermediate to advanced knowledge of needle or shuttle tatting to complete this project including split rings, josephine knots and adding beads to tatting.

This project uses size 10 crochet cotton thread, size 5 tatting needle(or shuttle), 45 3mm/4mm swarovski crystals, 1 piece of wire at 6.5cm and 2 pieces at 17.5cm, jewelry pliers, scissors, steel crochet hook (optional for joins) If you need help learning tatting check out Bella Online or join the tatting group Intatters.

This mask as well as many of my other tatted creations can be found in my Etsy store. If you have any questions or problem, please let me know. Happy tatting! Origami Dream Stars. Did you pack your present? Guy Fawkes Mask in Origami. Here I show you how to fold a Guy Fawkes mask, like the one worn by V in "V for Vendetta". You will need 2 things: 1) A square of paper, black on one side, white on the other2) Intermediate origami skill. I won't be covering that here. I recommend Stephen O'Hanlon's online primer: I apologize for the crude hand-drawn figures.

It does this in two ways: by glow-in-the-dark paint, and by a photoresistor-controlled Arduino circuit. It is part of a light-up dance costume and goes with the dazzle jacket and fiber-optic laser fans. The costumes are intended to aid self-expression and augment the inherent drama and design of the dance costume. The dress's circuit is dependent on analog input from a subtly placed photoresistor.

Subtle placement of glow paint and LEDs make the nighttime components nearly invisible in the daytime. NOTE: The main image displayed is an image of the dress in daytime, photoshopped to an idealized version of the dress. Building a WFO (wood fired oven) In the spirit of off the gridness and in an effort to be more self-sufficient, my wife and I recently tackled a new project at home. We built a wood-fired oven, or WFO, if you prefer. An outdoor wood-fired oven gives us another option for many kinds of cooking. It also provides a great accompaniment to the barbecue. The WFO is a lot of fun to built and use.

It provides a lot of feel good factor for having done it ourselves with little money. Of course, it also makes great tasting food. We over-researched the subject by reading several books and by searching online before finally building it.
