Nyc mixed paper journal. **********UPDATE: Sorry the photos are no longer working! I have reposted all of the photos on my current blog. You can view the journal here: THANK YOU!! ********** I took a little trip to New York last month and just finished a mixed paper journal that holds all of my pictures, tickets, brochures, and other mementos. If you want to make your own to celebrate a recent trip or other special event, follow these simple steps.

Step #1: Collect tickets / brochures / postcards / other paper along the way. I saved everything that I came upon while I was away, include stuff that's free (ticket stubs, pamphlets) and stuff that I bought (postcards, maps). Before I left for my trip, I put an envelope like this in my purse to hold all of the paper I accumulated along the way. Step #2: Document your trip on a variety of mixed papers. Step #3: Label your photos. I combined mine in chronological order. You're done!! DIY Project – CD Wallet Scrapbook. I’ve always thought that the sign of a healthy relationship is a couple that’s stronger when they’re together than they are individually. There’s something about being with Mr. Eggplant that brings out the best in me and challenges me to grow. I like to think that the theme of our relationship can be wrapped up in two words (and coincidentally one song by Jack Johnson): Better together.

Mr. I thought I’d share the project with you all since it’s quick and easy and would make a great bridesmaid gift or present for your S.O. Materials: 1 CD wallet, preferably with a photo window on the front cover (I can’t find one online, but I got my from Borders) Colored scrapbook paper Vellum paper Various embellishments (I used buttons, flower-shaped brads, metal letters, and spiral shaped paperclips) 12 black and white photos Optional but helpful: Fiskars circle cutterSteps: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

DIY Picture Tiles - You Will Never Buy a Photo Frame Again. Lately I’ve been having this huge urge to decorate the house. This is big news. I do not decorate. Arguably, one of the reasons why is because I. absolutely. hate. to. buy. mass. produced. decor. (Also, I can’t ever remember if pink and purple go together or not.)

Anyway, this extends to photo frames. You might think, with my trigger finger on the camera all the time, my house would be littered with photos. Nope. Long story short, I discovered this method of transferring my photos cheaply, quickly, and beautifully to something uncommon and unique. Tiles. The only thing that’s not particularly crunchy about this is that it uses Modge Podge or similar (and I’m not sure what’s in Modge Podge). It’s just grainy and doesn’t dry clearly. Boo. BUT, if you can overlook that one minor issue, I think you’ll love this. And it will be glorious. Here’s how you do it. First, you need to go to Home Depot, Lowes, or something like it. (FYI, I found that Lowes prices on tiles were cheaper than Home Depot.

Turn Old CD Cases into Wondrous Spinning Photo Carousels. Why would you settle for photos that just sit there when you can get photos that *spin*? With a few CD jewel cases, you can make a free and E-Z photo frame carousel, a rad DIY photo project from Tiffany Threadgould’s DIY book, ReMake It. It’s a frame-holder that fits 10 photos and delightfully spins around a base just like your favorite childhood ride of yore.

Best of all, when one photo starts feeling played out (kinda like your old Eminem CD), you can simply give it a spin for a whole new photo to decorate your desk. Start digging through your CD bin and give your garbage and/or Garbage another go. Make a Sweet Spinny Photo Carousel p.s.
