Bipolar junction transistors as switches : Worksheet. Question 1: Solid-state switching circuits usually keep their constituent transistors in one of two modes: cutoff or saturation. Explain what each of these terms means. "Cutoff" refers to that condition where a transistor is not conducting any collector current (it is fully off). "Saturation" means that condition where a transistor is conducting maximum collector current (fully on). Follow-up question: is there such a thing as a state where a transistor operates somewhere between cutoff (fully off) and saturation (fully on)? Notes: In all fairness, not all transistor switching circuits operate between these two extreme states.

Question 2: Explain the function of this light-switching circuit, tracing the directions of all currents when the switch closes: Notes: Ask your students to explain what possible purpose such a circuit could perform. Question 3: If switch SW2 were opened (and switch SW1 remained closed), what would happen to the currents through R1 and R2? Question 4: Question 5:

If your QtDMM has the 'integration' feature it is 0.6.2 in reality. With version 0.8 the way of reading data from the multimeter was changed. Version 0.8.5 has a commandline option (--console).

NTC Thermistors Temperature Sensor Probe Assemblies NTC Thermistors Temperature Sensor Probe Description NTC Thermistor can be assembled in housing in a variety of configurations for temperature sensing, measurement, detection, indicator, monitoring and control.

Thermistor temperature sensor probe assemblies can conveniently attach to or be an integral part of any system to monitor or control temperature. The choice of assembly is dependent on the application. The primary factors which determine the optimum configuration of a thermistor assembly are the operating environment, mounting, time response and minimum dissipation constant. The two factors which do vary considerably with thermistor sensor probe assembly design are time constant and dissipation constant. Dimension in the unit: mm Application: Temperature measurement in air conditioner for regulating the evaporator temperature, and other HVAC (Heating, ventilation and air conditioning) application. I read all the datasheet and I am trying to do the circuit provided on page 8, Figure 3: The thermocouple one.

The problem is: I have a thermocouple type K with the max output is 53.4mV. I want to amplifier this value to 5V, so I need a gain of 93.6. So I used the formula on page 7: Figure 1. Calculated the RG and found 2257 ohms. I know that is not a pratical value. I mounted the circuit on my simulator program: My surprise is that I had not the gain I spected. So, what could I miss to add in the circuit? Thanks and sorry my english... Matheus Lopes Electrical Engineering Student Federal University of São João del Rei Brazil.
