Well, I've got a lot of demands for a hair and skin making-of ... that's my reply :)I tried (once again) to do a video tutorial but my computer is too slow, so I've done screenshots :/Its not a very original or creative picture but at least you've got all the steps. It's 100% airbrushed picture (except for the hair). I used a very kitsch picture of Irina Sheik (I don't know who she is ^^') .I didn't use ref for the vinyl part.the hand belongs to my beloved one :) I don't have time to write all the explanations :p Note that it's nearly a COPY of a picture, it's far more easy than caricature, even if the method is the same.

DON'T USE colors picking (it's very dangerous, the jpeg compression generated a lot of "aberrant" pixels). You can desaturated your picture and your ref to compare the contrast and the luminosity. Hope it will be useful to someone. Photoshop: Painting Tutorial 2 by `alexiuss on deviantART. Tutorial: Lineart Coloring by ~minties on deviantART. How to Create a Fantasy Atmosphere Style Car Ad. Handy Techniques for Cutting Out Hair in Photoshop. This post was originally published in 2009 The tips and techniques explained may be outdated. When trimming out images in Photoshop, human hair or animal fur always proves troublesome and can be tricky to achieve a realistic look. Here are two techniques I use on images with both plain backgrounds, and those with a varied background tones, each achieving pretty decent end results. Technique One: Images with Plain Backgrounds The best photos are those professional studio type shots that are taken against a plain white background. These shots make it much easier to find the edges of the subject, but trimming out fine hairs can still be a little tricky.

Open up your image in Photoshop. Head over to the Channels palette and review each of the Red, Green and Blue channels. With only the new channel selected, adjust the Levels (CMD+L) to dramatically increase the contrast between light and dark areas. Due to the slight variation in tone of the background, it appears grey in the darker areas. Making of Eastern Dragon Rider. There are two things that was in my mind from start. I wanted to bring a tension and conflict between dragon and the evil rider as essence to push the emotional feeling in piece and second thing was the eastern look to give him more unique and special look that differentiate him from others. I started the rough sketches with these two things in my mind. I usually stared my sketch`s with markers and pencils.

Markers for blocking the large shapes and making a good silhouette and pencils for adding a details and designs meanwhile I add a thumbnail so that show a composition beside almost every good concept that I have. I like this stage of creation process the most. In this stage where you start exploring the potentials of the different ideas that populate your mind. From one good accident, I took advantage of it and developed by adding the snakes as an evil essence to dragon rider (see how the scurf of the rider in right of Fig 1 has been developed to the snakes in the rider on left)
