Alarm Only Goes Off If It's A Sunny Day Out. Truthfully, no one likes waking up to an alarm clock, especially if there’s a blizzard happening outside. But imagine if said alarm clock were attuned to the weather dial, only disturbing your slumber when the sun was shining? The Nivea Sun Alarm app does just that – updating the weather in real time (via a weather channel) so those with the app only get woken up when it’s time to hit the beach. And if there’s a downpour, the alarm allows the person to sleep later. A neat branded utility tool that Nivea sunscreen and Agencia ClickIsobar created for the Brazilian market. Nivea Sun Alarm. Design Your App on Paper, Animate It With Your iPhone Camera. In the digital age, paper is anything but dead. Designers can use "paper prototypes" to experiment with UI designs fast and even (as in the case of Clear, a gestural iPhone app) reveal innovative user interactions.

There’s just one hitch: How do you get your sketches to actually interact with each other like a digital app? An app called POP cleverly solves this problem with the iPhone’s camera--just snap some pics of your sketches, link them together with a few taps, and voila: instant interactive prototype. No coding required. So wait, why paper, again? Officially, this part of interaction design is known as "wireframing," which makes it sound like you need to have a PhD in order to do it.

"A few weeks ago we received a feature request from Alexander, a second-grader, saying he needs to take color pictures of his prototype, because he wants to draw with crayon and colored pencils," Lin says. He's created three illustrations; one for the ninth, tenth, and eleventh doctors. Each illustration that was created includes a note from the artist. I love Doctor Who, and I've really been enjoying Matt Smith in the role of The Doctor, he's been incredibly fun to watch. But I also really liked both Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant. I would have liked to see more of Eccleston, but Smith might just be my favorite Doctor so far though. This one is special :3 As some of you may already know, i'm a HUUUGE Doctor Who fan, so, when i thought of making some new posters for this con season i couldn't reject the idea of paying a little tribute to the Doctor! Man, i loved Tennant SO MUCH. When Matt Smith became the new doctor i wasn't happy at all, i must confess.

A mysterious website for the Deep Space Radio Wave Project surfaced earlier this week, as part of a viral marketing campaign for a big new superhero movie. The site, which had a copyright sign for Warner Bros. (the studio behind Man of Steel), featured a series of symbols that needed to be decoded by analyzing interstellar signals. It also described the organization and it’s mission: Welcome to the home of the DSRW Project, a private non-profit research organization with a network of world-wide interstellar communication facilities that support the exploration of our solar system and the universe. After the symbols were decoded, some smart fans realized that the numbers were coordinates (“N77d58 W76d19″) to a location off the southwest coast of Greenland in the North Atlantic Ocean.
