I’ve had these little wood bits (circles and squares) that I’d been using for making clocks and decided to use them as the base.
Here is what I did: You’ll need paper (I used an old dictionary), wood bits from a craft store, waterproof micropen, pencil, scissors, craft glue, drill, small drill bit and clear glossy varnish. 1. Trace the wood piece on your selected paper. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. I made these on Thursday and they were smooth. Be Sociable, Share! DIY Wrap Bracelet. You should all know by now that we are all about stacking bracelets on our wrists.
The more, the better. In fact . . . the most, the best! With that being said, we’ll show you how to master a version of the ever so popular wrap bracelet. It’s so simple and addicting, you’ll soon be churning out these wristlets with your eyes closed. You’ll need (for a double wrapped bracelet) :* Lengths will vary depending on the size of your wrist (see comments for suggestions). Fold the length of leather cording in half to form a loop. Place the ball chain along the leather cording with the end of the chain meeting the end of the wrap.
Continue wrapping while checking it for fit around the wrist. When you have reached the end of the ball chain wrap the linen cording around the leather strands 2-3 more times. Thread the hex nut through the strands and tie a second knot. Trim with scissors and your wrap bracelet is finished!! The materials are listed for a double wrap bracelet. It’s a party! Silk Poppies. Copy Cat. Recently I have been dreaming about these bracelets by Chan Luu: However, since they seem to start at $90 and rise quickly from there, the inner jeweler in me started thinking and studying the pictures. I also Googled a tutorial for this type of bracelet, and very few photographic tutorials were available. So here is mine! I started with a trip to Hobby Lobby. I bought round leather and flat suede. I also chose some sparkly beads. I also use heavy duty thread throughout. Decide if you want a double or single wrap, or triple even!
Keep the cord folded in half and make a knot at the top large enough to ease a knot or button through, but not too large. Then get A LOT of thread. Run the thread behind the two cord strands like so. Place your bead on the needle then run down between the two cords. Take the needle, and come over the top of the right cord and back through the bead. Work your way down to the end trying to keep each bead stitch even. Voila! Crystal pendant tutorial.
Crafting with friends is one of my favorite things in the world. Stacy may not be a regular contributor to this blog anymore, but she's still our dear friend, the crafting queen, and a major inspiration to us! We got together with her for some crafting this week and made these gorgeous crystal pendants. I couldn't believe how easy they were! Crystal or Glass Tile Pendant Tutorial You will need:-a crystal pendant (this one is from Connie Crystal-Stacy bought it at our local Ben Franklin) or glass tile-a pair of scissors-patterned paper-a pinch bale (Stacy bought ours at Ben Franklin)-A clear crafting glue like Diamond Glaze, Crystal Effects, or Glossy Accents-a chain (any length you like, we chose 24")-a pencil First, pick out a patterned paper that you love. Add some Diamond Glaze / Crystal Effects / Glossy Accents glue to the back of your pendant. Now press your paper face down on the back of the pendant so it can be seen through the other side.
We're in good company today with V and Co. I’d like to welcome Vanessa from V and Co. She is incredibly talented… and I never fail to find inspiration when I drop by her blog. You are going to love her tutorial… she takes what is little more than a scrap of fabric and turns it into a lovely piece of fashion. Thank you Vanessa for sharing your talents with us. Hi there every one I’m excited to share with you this little flower ring tutorial while Calli is away having fun at Disneyland!!! The kits come in three colors for now but if you are interested in another color just contact me either through email or through my “contact” in my shop and we’ll see what i can do for you! Ready to get started? Diy {jenga keychain} A while back ago I purchased a Jenga wood block game on sale for just $3.99. I thought to myself, "I'm sure there's something cool I could make with all these wooden blocks... " So I brought them home and began to think of a way to use them and this is what I came up with, Jenga keychains! These make great gifts and are sure to liven up any old set of keys.
Going on a trip this summer? Save a map from your vacation and make your own souvenir keychains with your kids. Here's what you'll need: -wooden block -decorative paper (scrapbook page, map, sheet music, pretty wrapping paper, pages of a book, ect...) Use the pliers to screw the screw eye into the top of the block. Trace the sides of the block on to the paper and cut them out. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the back of each paper and place them on the Jenga block. Allow a few minutes to dry completely and then apply a thin layer of Mod Podge around all the sides.
So many possibilities... Diy {bird nest necklace} I have been seeing a lot of bird nest jewelry around lately. They are beautiful and I love the trend so I thought I would try making my own. These turned out to be really easy to make and require just a few simple supplies. This necklace would make a lovely Mother's day gift, which just happens to be coming up this weekend! What you'll need: - Jewelry wire (I prefer using a 24 gage because it is easier to manipulate but the 20 gage can work well too with the help of some round nose pliers) - pearls or glass beads - necklace chain - jump ring and a clasp Select the beads you want, string them onto your wire and arrange them as you'd like. then simply wrap the wire around the beads wrap some wire in the space between each bead (I like the look of three loops but you could just do one or two if you prefer) this is what the back looked like.
Now attach a jump ring and a clasp to the end of a necklace chain and this is what you end up with :) I love how each one is so different.
