What is Earthing? | runbare.com. Studies now show that just standing on the earth barefoot has amazing health benefits as we drain off free-radicals and the electric charge we carry with us. This phenomena is also known as "earthing". Think of it this way. The earth is a giant car battery with a liquid metal core. It carries a strongly negative charge. And anything above the ground (such as in the air or insulated from the ground) carries a positive charge. In essence, to ground something is to plug it back in to the earth, which is actually the third prong on our electrical outlets (called a ground). Human beings, and all organisms for that matter, are electrical in nature as well. At no point in our history have we been this disconnected or insulated from the earth. What does this mean? And that charge turns out to be quiet harmful to our bodies. All of these things occur, or build up, because we’re ungrounded and have no way to drain them.

That sensation isn’t just in our heads, it’s real. Here’s how to travel the entire country without ever getting in a car. This painstaking map (click to embiggen, but you’re going to want to go to the full-size version) is a labor of love by the American Intercity Bus Riders Association, and it shows all the intercity transit routes in the U.S. In theory, you could use this map to traverse the country by rail and bus alone, never getting in a car. Greater Greater Washington has a caveat: It’s probably impossible for this kind of map to be 100% accurate all the time. In all likelihood there are some missing links, and missing carriers. But it’s still quite an impressive undertaking, and a useful tool to bookmark. So, you know, keep that in mind as you light out on your trip to crisscross the United States without entering a single vehicle that holds fewer than 50 people.

Ningaloo is home to the world's largest fringing reef and can be reached by just a short swim in many places. Nowhere else on the planet can you access a large coral reef so easily. What's more, it's made the UNESCO World Heritage list for its incredible biodiversity and the 'bucket list' as one of the few places in the world where you can swim with the largest fish in the ocean, the gentle whale shark.

For your Ningaloo escape, head for Coral Bay or Exmouth. Flights from Perth get you to nearby Learmonth airport in two and a half hours. Alternatively, you can make the two day drive from Perth, or join an extended tour. Reaching nearly 20 kilometres seaward and covering 5,000 square kilometres of ocean, Ningaloo Reef brings you face-to-fin with some 500 species of fish, graceful manta rays and turtles, as you glide over 300 varieties of coral. Or, if you'd prefer to stay dry, glass-bottom boat tours offer a window to this underwater wonderland. The Wim Hof Method *Revealed* – How to Consciously Control Your Immune System. We previously published an article about Wim Hof, holder of 20 Guinness World Records for withstanding extreme temperatures.

He has climbed Everest and Kilimanjaro in only shorts and shoes, stayed comfortably in ice baths for hours, and run a full marathon in the highest desert (50 degrees celsius, 122 Fahrenheit) with no water & food. Wim is able to accomplish these feats with ease through the use of ‘The Wim Hof Method‘ — a breathing technique that allows you to control the autonomous systems of the body. However the most earthshaking effect of the Wim Hof Method is the ability to consciously control the immune system to fight off diseases.

Our immune system plays a significant role in almost all devastating diseases plaguing the modern world, and finding a way to improve it can help us discover new avenues for medicine. Wim is currently working with a group of university researchers to prove that anyone can do the extraordinary things he does. Update: Study is now out. The Method. Dietary fats and oils are the most concentrated form of energy as they yield 9 calories/g, whereas, carbohydrates and proteins yield only 4 calories/gm. Nuts and oil seeds are good sources of fat. Beside rich in energy, dietary fats are incredible sources of essential fatty acids, vitamin E in addition to act as the transport vehicle for fat-soluble vitamins/hormones.

There are two types of dietary fats, visible and non-visible fat. Visible fats include oils, butter, animal fat etc. Invisible fat, not visible to naked eyes, is present in food items like wheat, rice and pulses etc, in small amounts. In general, the fats and oils we use are mainly composed of either saturated OR un-saturated fatty acid chains. Saturated fats contain no double bonds in their chemical structure. Why fats and oils are essential?
