History of the Internet - Online MBA

In order to go forward, sometimes you need to look back. For all MBA candidates, understanding how far the Internet has come can give any student the opportunity to picture what is next. With the Internet being such a central component to all of our lives, as well as the business world, it is important to be aware of its origin and know what exactly it is capable of doing for any company.

The 15-minute film (embedded below) is a pretty good general overview of the semantic web. That is, turning all of the data on the web into structured data so as to define relationships between it and derive meaning. Though I enjoy when Hunch co-founder Chris Dixon cautions in the film that “semantic web” is now a “ marketing term that’s abused and thrown around .”
