Purchasing – Rolls-Royce. Every year, Rolls-Royce spends billions on goods and services.
Making sure we get the best possible value from that spend and from our supplier relationships is the role of our Purchasing team. It’s a key area. One that not only has a huge impact on our bottom line, but which enables teams across the business to deliver engineering excellence to customers. As a graduate in Purchasing, you'll start with three six-month placements which will provide you with a mix of on-the-job learning, modular training and project work. Covering roles in Buying or Materials Resource Planning & Control, these placements will give you a strong foundation in supplier management, allow you to hone your business acumen to a keen edge and provide you with an unparalleled insight into purchasing within an advanced manufacturing and engineering organisation. Crucially, these placements will give you an understanding of how different teams across Rolls-Royce interlink. Project Management – Rolls-Royce. Whether we're developing new jet engines, creating new manufacturing facilities or building power stations, sound project management ensures we always meet our customers' expectations – as well as our own.
This two-year programme consists of four six-month placements, with various rotations giving you experience right across Rolls-Royce. The diversity and scale of our projects is huge and you’ll be working across the full project lifecycle – from scoping, planning and scheduling to resource, cost and risk management, right through to the delivery of the finished product. Hands-on assignments will give you the chance to apply your knowledge and to continue developing your skills. Human Resources – Rolls-Royce. Rolls-Royce is renowned for delivering excellence across all of our products and services, to all of our customers.
Doing that well means having the right people in the right place at the right time. And that’s where HR comes in. As an HR graduate, you'll support the business both operationally and through the delivery of key projects. You might find yourself providing HR services at a specific site, working in our centres of excellence or gaining leadership experience and technical expertise as part of our shared services operations. For example, it could be that you provide operational general HR support. Commercial – Rolls-Royce. Put your commercial aptitude and creativity to use as you help us find new and innovative ways to do business.
As a graduate here, you’ll handle contracts, look at how we can maximise profits and minimise risk at every stage of the contract management lifecycle, from inception and signature to dispute resolution and closure. It's a fast-moving team, and you’ll be brought up to speed quickly as you take on a series of placements in key areas of Commercial – all tailored to the Rolls-Royce business you’re based in.
From the outset, you’re going to be absolutely fundamental to our success. We build incredibly complex, high-value products and have global customers that place huge demands on us. And you’ll be part of the team that ensures they can fully trust us to deliver on them. We’ll give you real responsibility early on so you can expect to work face-to-face with customers, partners and suppliers from all over the world, either here in the UK or on an international visit.
Health, Safety & Environment – Rolls-Royce. Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) is critical to being trusted to deliver excellence.
It's at the very core of who we are as a business and, in HS&E, that forms two key goals. Firstly, we aim to ensure a safe and healthy work environment with no injuries, no work-related ill health and no environmental incidents. Secondly, we are committed to preventing or minimising the health, safety and environmental impacts of our activities, products and services. It's to these ends that our HS&E team provides a range of services and support to the entire organisation. This not only ensures that we deliver an HS&E performance to be proud of, but earns the confidence of our customers, shareholders and communities. Customer Management & Services – Rolls-Royce. Our commitment to delivering excellence extends far beyond our products.
We take great pride in working to the highest standards in all that we do – and that’s why our Customer Management & Services function is so integral to our success. This is the team that ensures customers always come first. Designed to develop future leaders and lasting for three and a half years, this programme will help you build a core foundation of skills, knowledge and experiences across different sectors, locations and roles.
You’ll undertake three six-month placements, and a 24-month role covering the breadth of our activities. Across all of this, you can expect to work on diverse projects. We’ll develop your leadership potential too. You’ll have a strong support network around you, including a graduate development consultant, a career coach, graduate programme alumni, and of course, line managers for each placement.
