It doesn't seem like you're too aware of how personality and MBTI work, so I'll try to make this as simple as I can without confusing you. Personality is innate and it stems from your cognitive preferences (within the brain). INTJs cognitive preferences or functions are Ni (Introverted Intuition) + Te (Extraverted Thinking) + Fi (Introverted Feeling) + Se (Extraverted Sensing), in that order. What this basically means in laymens terms, is that INTJs are not people oriented, they don't have the 'need' to associate with people as much as other types.
