Twenty Questions - Jerakeen - Teen Wolf

" Stiles says that night, when he enters his room after dinner and finds Derek perched on the windowsill. "I didn't... expect to see you so soon. Not that I didn't want to. I very much wanted to see you. I just didn't—" He stops himself—it takes effort—and says, "What's up? " Derek shrugs. "Yeah," Stiles agrees, because that's pretty much how he's been feeling all day.

He sits on the bed, cross-legged, and watches Derek watching him. "Isn't this weird? " "Not really," Derek says. "Exactly! " Derek is smiling at him. "I'm just so relieved," Stiles admits. Derek nods, his smile turning shy. "Come on," Stiles cajoles. "Scared," Derek tells him. Adore to see your eyes fly - 1001cranes - Teen Wolf. And Dwell Beneath My Shadow - lielabell - Teen Wolf. Decision isn’t the right word. A plan, maybe. Ever since he found Laura, the only plan Derek’s had is to avenge her death and become the Alpha. Scott threw a wrench in it, or Peter threw a wrench in it by turning Scott, because if Derek becomes the Alpha, Scott becomes his pack, his responsibility, his to watch over and teach, and Derek just wants to get on with his life without an inexperienced beta dogging his heels. He’s too young for his own pack. (Laura was too young.)

But if Derek lets Scott do it … the cure isn’t a sure thing. Someone’s breathing hard behind him—probably Stiles, everyone else knows how to stay quiet—and Peter just looks up at him. He’s Derek’s only family, and Derek can’t hurt him now. “Derek—” It’s Scott, from near the Argent girl, the one who shot him. Scott doesn’t even have the courage to look when he slits Peter’s throat.

Derek would feel it if there were a new Alpha, and there isn’t. Derek doesn’t bother snarling. “I know.” The Heart - Jerakeen - Teen Wolf. But okay, let's be fair: he has noticed the active beehive in his brain, how could he not, it's really frickin' annoying, but he hadn't realized that it had become a thing, a constant thing, because to be honest, Stiles is used to his body pulling crap like that by now. When has any part of him ever acted normal? There hasn't been one day when he felt like a normal human being, comfortable in his own skin. If it's not a beehive, it's the overachieving little mice turning wheels in his head; if it's not the mice, then it's ants in his pants—don't laugh; it's a valid condition that disrupts his daily life. There's a very obvious joke—or three—there, about the animal kingdom and Stiles' irresistibility, but he can't even make that bit of effort, because oh my God the buzzing is almost completely gone.

So much for stealth training and inhabiting an environment without leaving a mark, Stiles thinks. At this rate he'll be able to track Scott half-blind in the dark and so will everyone else. The beam from his flashlight bobs along the ground as he walks. It's mostly unnecessary given the moon above him, shining through the thin, empty branches. He finds Scott fifteen minutes later, lounging on a fallen tree and typing on his phone like it's not freezing and foggy and the whole endeavor wasn't a huge waste of time. "Dude," Stiles says. Scott looks up, goofy smile fading away. "Oh, hey, he says," Stiles mutters. Scott frowns into the woods.

It has always been a tradition for the Stilinski men, but with his dad barely ever dating there's never been anyone else to join them. It was always just Stiles and his dad, their tiny family unit, checking in with each other over a cup of joe. Until Derek. First thing his dad does after meeting Derek—meeting him as Stiles' boyfriend and not as a murder suspect—is to make him breakfast. Stiles is thankfully too sleepy to choke up at the time or there would be tears at the sight of those glorious fluffy pancakes. Make no mistake, it's a gruff, manly affair—as manly as it can be with the sheriff wearing an apron over his uniform—and there's absolutely no talk of feelings whatsoever, but Stiles knows how important it is, and his dad sure knows what he's saying with the gesture, and Derek, while he doesn't quite understand that he's being invited into the family, at least realizes that he's being accepted. But then of course it does.
