Nous pensions être les enfants de la joie, de l’amour pour les arbres, pour les oiseaux, pour l’eau et le soleil. Nous pensions être là pour apprendre leurs savoirs, à faire des maisons, des objets, des bateaux pour parcourir les océans découvrant le monde qui nous était offert. Nous croyions qu’on nous apprendrait à construire, à cultiver, à semer dans les champs les graines dont nous avons la nécessité, apprenant ainsi la patience.

This was the argument made here by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf , who was until recently one of the prime movers behind the hugely controversial Park51 Islamic cultural center in New York City.

Prix Nobel de la paix

Le prix Nobel de la paix récompense « la personnalité ou la communauté ayant le plus ou le mieux contribué au rapprochement des peuples, à la suppression ou à la réduction des armées permanentes, à la réunion et à la propagation des progrès pour la paix » selon les volontés, définies par testament, d' Alfred Nobel . Cela comprend la lutte pour la paix, les droits de l'homme, l'aide humanitaire, la liberté. Le prix de l'année peut être partagé entre deux, voire trois personnalités ou institutions ayant rendu de grands services à l'humanité par la voie diplomatique.
