Description of service The fertility unit has been well established since the 1990s. The unit provides a comprehensive secondary level fertility service which includes full evaluation of couples, assessment, therapeutic laparoscopic operations as well as hysteroscopic operations. The department also offers a fortnightly weight group programme (with a dietician in regular attendance) for assisting women with dietary and weight problems. All couples are encouraged to attend together at all times and there is a daily presence in the unit to attend to all the varying needs of attending couples.
