Get Some Therapy From An App That Reads Your Feelings Through Your Voice. At moments of high stress, the less self-controlled among us might come close to throwing their cell phone against the wall. But soon, your phone might help you relieve some of that stress (or at least better mange it). An app on your smartphone could soon tell you when you’re stressed, or worried, or suffering from a more serious mental health problem. Devices like Nike+ or Jawbone’s UP bracelet keep a daily, constant record of physical fitness, but the system that Tanzeem Choudhury, a computational wizard at Cornell University, designed reaches out a step beyond physical fitness to the comparatively untracked terrain of mental health.

Choudhury’s sensing system uses machinery in a smartphone--mainly the accelerometer and the microphone--to monitor people’s movements and speech, respectively. Collaborating with Andrew Campbell at Dartmouth, she’s created algorithms that can extract reliable behavioral information from the phone sensor data based on vocal cues. Soon, Google to give search results from minute old events! - Yahoo! London, Nov 5 (ANI): An Indian born software engineer at Google Inc. has announced that the company will now provide search results from the most recent events and hot topics.

The company has taken up the steps in response to the increasing use of Twitter and Facebook as a source of breaking news, the Telegraph reported. It says that around 35 per cent of searches will be affected, and results will now include pages that are just minutes old if the company's algorithm detects that the most recent information is the most relevant. "Given the incredibly fast pace at which information moves in today's world, the most recent information can be from the last week, day or even minute, and depending on the search terms, the algorithm needs to be able to figure out if a result from a week ago about a TV show is recent, or if a result from a week ago about breaking news is too old," the company's Amit Singhal wrote on the Google Search Blog.

One Reason We Love Apple  ONE REASON WE LOVE APPLE2 years ago This isn't another Steve Jobs tribute post. The man was great, and the world is showing that.

This is, rather, a reflection on why, in my opinion, Mac people are so rabid about their products. It's a reason Steve Jobs knew all so well, and worked to achieve every day. Simply put, if you look at Macintosh users as customers, (which they are) then the product Apple creates is the customer service within the equation. When my MacBook Air turns on, it becomes an extension of myself. This defies what we as customers expect (or usually receive) on a daily basis. Linkedin is the “social network for business” and now has over 200 million users. And many Linkedin users, myself included, have found new clients through it, and enhanced relationships with existing clients. But many others have found it to suck up a ton of time for very little gain. So here are 10 quick tips for getting the most from Linkedin. 1. The first thing you do when you join Linkedin is to create a profile. Resist that temptation. When you first meet potential clients you don’t rattle off a huge list of companies you’ve worked for and the responsibilities you’ve had – that would bore the pants off them.

Most effective introductions focus on who you help, and what problems you help them solve or results you help them achieve. Think about the impression you want to make on your potential clients. 2. 12 Tips For Completing Your LinkedIn Profile & Connecting With LinkedIn #video.
