When you register for ePRT you are assigned to one of the zones depending on whether you are a Primary PRT, Secondary PRT or a Mentor (tutor teacher). Within each zone there is a pathway (or pathways) of modules. After completing the "Introduction to ePRT" module you are free to pick and choose modules from your pathway according to your needs and at your own pace. ePRT Module Content Modules vary in length but should take no longer than 20-30 minutes to complete. Modules include - Designing a Mentoring and Induction Programme for PRTs, Requirements of Registration, The Registered Teacher Criteria, National Standards, NCEA, Overseas Trained Teachers, Teaching as Inquiry, Mentoring as Inquiry, Curriculum Leaning Area modules and Culturally Responsive Practice.

They provide a place for students to check assignment information and find more learning resources, like links and educational games relevant to the topics being covered in the classroom. Teachers benefit from knowing that homework assignments, along with any worksheets or instructions, can be easily accessed by students at any time. Teachers also benefit from having a place to set up resources for parents, maybe even including a blog. More importantly, I have gained valuable experience and insights into the world of HR and the many intricate moving parts that keep a school district running. Most districts still have prospective employees turn in a traditional resume. Whether this resume is actually turned in via a hard copy or included as an attachment to an online application, the resume in education is still the predominant source for employment. Now, it's not my goal to upset the masses, but I have to question why this practice is still allowed, and frankly, why is this practice still viewed as the most effective means to employment?
