Project GUTS. ITSI Portal. The Innovative Technology in Science Inquiry project engages students in STEM activities through the integrated use of technologies that include modeling, computational thinking, and real-time data acquisition.
This comprehensive project will assist teachers in preparing diverse students for STEM careers by engaging them in exciting, inquiry-based science projects. Create ITSI Activity Elementary 3-4 Engineering. Learn Portal. Learning Science by Doing Science Students should learn science by doing science.
They should select their own question, design and execute a study, draw conclusions based on their data, and communicate their findings. InquirySpace provides ideas, approaches, and technologies to make this approach to learning easier for classroom teachers to offer—and more effective. CODAP relies on participation of an ever-expanding community of multiple collaborators. Contact us to explore partnership possibilities and more. The InquirySpace project at the Concord Consortium develops digital software and curriculum that lead to scaffolded science inquiry. This project has been using CODAP’s predecessor software since 2012. The Building Models project at the Concord Consortium is developing a systems dynamics modeling tool for secondary school students to construct dynamic models. The Ocean Tracks project at EDC already has online software and curriculum materials immersing high school students in an interdisciplinary study of marine biology based on GPS data from elephant seals, tuna, albatross and other large sea animals. Algodoo is designed in a playful, cartoony manner, making it a perfect tool for creating interactive scenes. Explore physics, build amazing inventions, design cool games or experiment with Algodoo in your science classes. Algodoo encourages students and children’s own creativity, ability and motivation to construct knowledge while having fun. Making it as entertaining as it is educational. Algodoo is also a perfect aid for children to learn and practice physics at home. Bending Light - Index of Refraction, Light, Snell's Law - PhET. Systems Thinking Games, developed in partnership with Filament Games, are designed to be used by youth and educators to assess systems thinking skills both in the classroom and in afterschool contexts.
A precursor to the GlassLab, this project brings together teachers, assessment experts and game designers and developers to collaboratively design and build a suite of games with data tools that support teachers in evaluating the way players approach problem-solving, and the strategies players use in understanding and interacting with complex systems. Currently, research is underway to develop assessment frameworks that yield valid and reliable assessment measures across the suite of digital games. A searchable database of games with learning potential, Playforce allows users to explore games related to specific learning content, academic standards or twenty-first century skills, like empathy, systems thinking or collaboration.
Playforce provides an indispensable resource to educators and parents looking to use games in service of specific learning goals. Game perspectives on Playforce are player-generated and moderated by a user community. Which means they don’t focus on what experts think is good about game play, but rather on what players know, based on their own collective experience. By putting the experience of players front and center, Playforce lets educators and parents know exactly what to expect from the games they use.
