Workshops and Events Like this: The Funding Network - What is The Funding Network? We are an Australian non-profit organisation and part of a global network that hosts live crowd-funding events in a fun and inclusive setting. Our members nominate and select four social entrepreneurs with small, non-profit organisations, who then pitch for funding from the audience at each event. Adopting a model that has flourished in the UK since 2002, TFN makes it possible for individuals, foundations and corporations to give collectively, (in increments starting from as little as $100), whilst aiming to raise at least $10,000 for every organisation that pitches.

TFN offers social entrepreneurs the rare opportunity to showcase their work, secure funding and mentoring, and to expand their donor base and networks. Our friendly, open environment inspires people to raise more as a group than they could as individuals, and it encourages them to offer more than just money. Find out How TFN works. [VIDEO] The most exciting entrepreneurial ventures seem to be those that are born by chance. Imagine two mates — two highly successful entrepreneurs — having a beer and talking about their mutual desire to visit Antarctica. One of them pulls out his iPhone and checks out the options. He’s greeted by pictures of ‘older types’, clutching zimmer frames, alongside other retirees, ticking off another box on their bucket lists.

It was faring only adequately against its national rival, Greggs and other more local competition.

Wingivers began work with the business in 2010 in a way that grabbed everyone’s attention from the start. We got together a group of store and area managers and a director for a day, split them into small groups and sent them all around Yorkshire on a mission: visit (prearranged) shops and find out what they think is great customer service, how they do it, and the impact on staff and customers. They returned with some great stories and their eyes wide open to possibilities in their own business. This created a wave of enthusiasm and energy for the project which never left it. Wingivers responded with a strategy in two main areas: 1. And the results? Wingivers continues to enjoy a lasting relationship with the business and it has led to introductions to other regional retailers within the sector. Blpia_extract.pdf. How it's done - Building Learning Power. BLP has a clear social, moral and philosophical rationale.

It puts at the heart of education the development of psychological characteristics that are judged to be of the highest value to young people growing up in a turbulent and demanding world. And it has a robust scientific rationale for suggesting what some of these characteristics might be, and for the guiding assumption that these characteristics are indeed capable of being systematically developed. Two BLP frameworks Within this context, BLP provides two frameworks. The first framework The image of the powerful learner – doesn't claim to be a comprehensive theory of learning power.

This framework is essential, if teachers are going to think precisely and creatively about how they can become more effective ‘learning power coaches’. The second framework The second framework maps the ingredients of a school and classroom culture that help to cultivate those habits of mind. Customised learning programmes to meet your needs.
