Ace Hardware Corp. claims to be the “helpful place.” As of today it can make good on its motto anyplace with the launch of its mobile commerce web site. Consumers who type AceHardware.com into a smartphone web browser are automatically redirected to the mobile-optimized site. Consumers can use the site to conduct research, read reviews and purchase all products available on the Ace Hardware e-commerce site. The retailer developed the mobile site with m-commerce technology provider Branding Brand. “The launch of Ace’s mobile site is all about being helpful anytime and anywhere consumers want to access Ace,” says Jeff Gooding, director of consumer marketing. A new feature of the Ace Rewards Visa credit card mean that consumers will now be able to apply for the card in-store via an iPhone and get instant approval.
The Ace Rewards Visa credit card account is integrated with a brand new iPhone compatible app developed by U.S. Bank. The app can be downloaded from the iTunes store and will allows consumers to apply for instant credit which can be used straight away on approval at participating Ace Hardware stores. This is a fantastic opportunity for consumers who may be picking up a few items at Ace Hardware, such as kitchen faucets or even garden hoses, but find that they are running a little low on cash.
They can pull out their iPhone, apply for credit and be approved on the spot. The new Ace Rewards Visa App, downloadable at the iTunes store, gives customers the opportunity to apply for and receive, upon approval, immediate credit to start their shopping at participating Ace stores. Qualified new cardholders receive a secure, virtual credit card via their iPhone. When the cardholders are ready to make a purchase, they simply hand their iPhone with the virtual card displayed to an Ace sales associate at checkout. With every purchase, Ace Rewards Visa cardholders earn Ace Rewards points, receiving up to 5% back at Ace, 2% back on gas and groceries and 1% back everywhere else Visa is accepted. The new app also features a link to Ace's website, acehardware.com, to view products or find the nearest Ace Hardware store.
