Baked Garbanzo Beans Recipe. My kids love to snack. (Who am I kidding? So do their dad and I.) When I was pregnant with my third child, I went through a vegetarian kick and discovered tons of recipes that we loved. Baked Garbanzo Beans (Chick Peas) was one of them. This healthy, nutritious snack is a total hit and I wanted to share the recipe with you. As usual, in keeping true to my easy-to-make recipes theme, this recipe requires very few ingredients and is very simple to make. While the steps are easy and preparation is quick, you’ll need to plan to be in the kitchen for about 45 minutes and be able to check on the garbanzo beans every ten minutes or so. After you’ve drained and rinsed the garbanzo beans, place them on a couple sheets of paper towel and pat them dry. Add the paprika and chili powder to the garbanzo beans. Every ten minutes or so, shake the cookie sheet around so that the garbanzo beans move and don’t burn.

This is a nutritious, healthy snack that I’m sure everyone will love. Recipe type: Snack.

I wish I could take credit for the idea, but I stumbled on something like it and thought I would give it a whirl. My tummy is glad I did, but my thighs? Not so much. Woven Felt Place Mats. Handmade placemats are a great way to add some color and a unique touch to your table. I wanted to create a modern set that would work well for outdoor dining in the summer that would also be easy to make. These woven felt placemats require no sewing so they can be a fun all-family project! While we’re on the subject of soups, I thought it would be nice to share my SECRET recipe for the most KILLER Garlic Bread. What goes better with soups than garlic bread? Not much! My neighbor taught me to add dill in the garlic butter. It’s what makes this garlic bread killer. If you were to ask me what my death row meal would be, I’d immediately tell you a buffet full of this KILLER GARLIC BREAD.

And we’re off! Get your butter ready. Chop up your garlic, nice & fine. Put the garlic and the butter in a microwave safe bowl & melt in the microwave. Time for the dried herbs! Put all the herbs in the melted butter. Let the butter sit until it gets harder. Now smear it on your bread! Put the halves back together again. Unwrap your bread and put it under the broiler for 2 minutes. Wait for it to cool slightly and cut up your bread with a sharp knife. Brace yourself. Tracy’s Killer Garlic Bread (recipe by me!) Crochet a Flower With Pull Tabs For crafters who want to know how to crochet with pull tabs, we've come up with this free crochet pattern that will teach you how to crochet a flower. This is our first DIY project and it's a good introduction to recycled crafts. This crochet flower can be made into a Christmas tree ornament, a brooch or incorporated into a larger project. To download a printable version, click here » Step 1: Materials & Tools 6 pull tabs Crochet thread (1 or 2 colors).

Step 2: Prepare Your Pull Tabs Choose tabs that are in good condition. Step 3: Start Crocheting Begin crocheting the center of the flower using a single stitch to cover the 'thin side' of the tab (top figure) (the side that's pulled when a can is opened). Step 4: Connect the Circle Pull the line of tabs into a circle and crochet them together (top figure). Step 5: Add Color to the 'Petals' Cover the outer ring of the pull-tab using a double stitch with different colored thread.

Step 6: Cover and Connect. Salvaged cupboard door = serving tray - Craftynest. I noticed this stash of cupboard doors at my local salvage yard. The white one was the perfect size to make a serving tray. The old drawer pulls—also found at the salvage yard—made ideal handles. Their swirly shape gave me the inspiration for the pattern I painted. All it took was a little black paint. As with many of my projects, the possibilities are limitless: change the handles, add découpage or fabric, paint it a different color, or just leave it classic white.

" We have a second home (a ski condo in the mountains) and I am constantly filling up Ziplock bags with various spices for cooking. Why don't I just leave the spices up there? You ask. We rent the condo out and on more than one occasion, I've searched for my crushed red pepper, only to find that a renter used the last of it on his pepperoni pizza slice.

To solve my problem (and to be a little more kind to the environment), I created this Portable Spice Kit. It's only 6 inches x 1.5 inches and it easily fits in any tote bag or suitcase that I'm lugging back and forth. *I would check with the airlines to see if you can carry on spices. To create this project, head to your local Walgreens, CVS or other drug store. Notice the little key in the upper right corner of the package? When you open it up, you'll notice that each day's lid also has raised dots on the corner - braille to indicate the day for the visually impaired.

The Boy Trifecta: Dino Spike Crochet Pattern. I sort of think it does. Or at least it seems so to me. And I've definitely got the crochet bug these days. I've got a little monster running around my house these days, so I thought I'd create a hat to reflect his wild insane out-of-control hilariously adorable personality. Of course, this one modeling the hat, he's not a monster at all. I mean seriously, how can you not love those eyes? In case you have any little monsters that you would like to make this hat for, here's the dino spike pattern. Hook: 5mm (H) Yarn: Any worsted weight is fine - I used Wool-Ease.

Octopus amigurumi crochet doll by JennyDork on Etsy. Koala Bear Amigurumi | craftpassion.com. I found a Koala Amigurumi Pattern in the Woman’s Day website and I have some off-white and gray organic cotton yarns on hand, so I made a pair of these small little stuffed koalas for my kids in reverse color. Some ideas to make it differently: 1. This adorable little koala is about 3-5″ tall only (depend on your yarn and the matching hook size), install a key ring on it’s head and turn it into a key chain, hang it to the bag’s zipper. 2.

If we sew the limbs closer to the center of the body and insert 4 small strong magnets to the tip of each limb, you can make it “huggy” and hug on a tree branch or at the edge of your curtain or your pencil, ruler etc… 3. And, and…. instead of poly-fills, stuff beads into the body to weight it down and with the magnets of it limbs, it can be a cute memo holder on your desk too 4.

Find the appropriate positions for the ears, approx at the center of the vertical cross section of the head, middle of the height. Lastly, stuff and sew the limbs to the body. Outside - How to Make Instructables - Offset 180. Lesson Plan: Worlds Easiest Skirt. My sewing skills are pretty much limited to making my machine go forwards and backwards with a straight stitch. If you can do that (and also handle a pair of scissors), you can make this skirt. This lesson plan comes largely thanks to Susan of freshly picked, whose incredible and much more lucid elastic-waist skirt pattern you can find here. The first several steps are hers, and are much easier to understand on her blog. Thanks also to Kendi, who told me that I could add text using Picasa and contributed to any clarity this lesson plan has. P.S. You can click on any of the pictures to make them larger if you can't see the text. In between these steps, measure your waist and the length you'd like the skirt. And remember to wash, dry, and iron your fabric before you begin, since fabric often shrinks!

I like to fold my cloth and lay the pattern on top of it so I cut two pieces at once. You can only find the pocket pattern on freshly picked--you can find it here (thank you, Susan!) Strikkefrenzys 14 Totoros. The dolls in this pattern were too sugar cute for me, although I think they look great. In my head, I had 3 versions, maybe I can inspire someone to make the other two? - here they are: I. The just as sugar cute version: Since one of my passions is diving, I wanted to use the free sea horse pattern found HERE. My conclusions were that this would be too cute as well. II. Notes The I-cord cast-on kills my fingers… took me 2 days to finish! Why why WHYYY must everything always turn out too big? The decreases in this pattern look bumpy and ugly, not really recommended. Sleeves done! Yoke: 308 sts. The Totoro pattern can be found here!! Did 3 decrease rounds before the one in the written instructions.

There are directions for both circular knitting and flat knitting. I've tried both and the aliens look just the same. Knit with sport weight yarn, they turn out about 1.5" tall. You could knit them with other weight yarn, with appropriate needles, but I'm not sure what size they would be.

These knit up super fast, so you can make pocketfuls in just an hour or two! Materials: small amount of sport weight or DK yarn; pair of 8 mm safety eyes, buttons or yarn to embroider face; stuffing; darning needle. Knit Circular: 3 mm (US size 2.5) circular needle, knit with magic loop method. Cast on 20 sts. Break off yarn and thread end though remaining sts. Finishing Turn alien inside out and secure this yarn end. Knit Flat: 3 mm (US size 2.5) straight knitting needles Cast on 22 sts. Break off yarn and thread end though remaining sts.
