The 6 Creepiest Places on Earth | Cracked.com - StumbleUpon. It doesn't matter whether or not you believe in ghosts, there are some places in which none of us would want to spend a night. These places have well earned their reputations as being so creepy, tragic or mysterious (or all three) that they definitely qualify as "haunted.
" Places like... Aokigahara is a woodland at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan that makes The Blair Witch Project forest look like Winnie the Pooh's Hundred Acre Wood. It probably has something to do with all the dead bodies scattered around. What Niagara Falls is to weddings, Aokigahara is to suicide. How many suicides does it takes for a place to get that reputation? More than 500 fucking people have taken their own lives in Aokigahara since the 1950s. The trend has supposedly started after Seicho Matsumoto published his novel Kuroi Kaiju (Black Sea of Trees) where two of his characters commit suicide there. Also skulls. "If you commit suicide here, bears will poop on your corpse.

When I first heard there are actual tournaments for Rock-paper-scissors, sanctioned by the World Rock Paper Scissors Society, I laughed. I mean seriously, $50k to the winner of a game that requires no skill whatsoever? Absurd. Boy was I wrong.
Rock-paper-scissors isn't just a silly game kids play or a way to decide who has to be the designated driver at parties. This is serious stuff. Males have a tendency to throw rock on their first try, inexperienced RPS players will subconsciously deliver the item that won previously, and paper is thrown least often, so use it as a surprise. When I first thought about that concept, my mind went to someone flinging paint at a giant canvas on a wall. One of those…angry painter moments. Not so in this case. But how does 25-year old artist Amy Shackleton paint such ellaborate scenes like the one pictured above without using a brush, you might wonder?
The answer to that is simple. She uses gravity. Easier said than done to say the least…and I think I’ll let the video below demonstrate Amy’s technique. After the video, hit the jump for more of Amy’s art. More of Amy’s paintings are waiting after the break. Like. ///Rick. Art ‹ These Old Colors. Posted by Steven on 28 Jan 2014 / 0 Comment Some people think fonts are just something that designer’s come up with to impress a client or to spruce up a certain design. To a point – yea – that’s true, but not all the way. It does up the ante on a design, but it also is appealing for us – no matter if you’re a trained professional or someone who doesn’t give a crap about fonts…the font we read in is beneficial to the way we intake knowledge.
This is where Michael Cho, from The Next Web, comes in. He has done the research on how our brains react to certain fonts so we don’t have to – and gives us some helpful hints with how we choose a font for whatever we’re writing. The article more focuses on the blogging aspect of a font, but it definitely can be applied to a book or a research paper that you’re working on that might help in conveying your point.
