Simple stuff. Ornament Challenge: Floral Ball. By now you probably know that my friend Gen from Cabin Fevered Gem has thrown down the gauntlet and issued a challenge for me to make 7 ornaments in 7 days while she does the same. It's getting pretty serious, the paper and ribbon are flying, and the ornaments are going up on the tree faster than Santa can say Ho Ho Ho! So let's get on with Day 3! Here's what you'll need: Steps: 1) I wasn't crazy about the paper I had for this project. I just felt like it was missing a little pizazz...sparkle that is. Just lightly brush it on your paper. 2) While you're waiting for your new Mod Podged paper to dry, cut a piece of ribbon about 8" long to use as a hanger. 3) I used my Silhouette to cut out a couple pages of these shapes: When you stack them they make a tiny little hydrangea flower, so cute!

3) Gently curl the edges of the shapes and stick a pin through the centre of each little stack. And that's it! Make sure to head over to Cabin Fevered Gem to see what she came up with for today.

Cheap Craft Ideas - Inexpensive Crafts. Tea Towel Market Tote Adapted from Clare Youngs’s The Perfect Handmade Bag ($19.95; Cico), this cute carryall requires little more than a pair of small wooden spatulas and two tea towels ($15 each; motherlindas.com). Cut six strips of fabric from one towel. Two, measuring 33⁄4"W x 141⁄4"L each, will serve as the decorative horizontal bands at the top of the tote and should incorporate the towel’s graphics (as shown, left). The other four, measuring 31⁄2"W x 8"L, will form tabs for the bag’s handles. To make a tab, topstitch one of the long sides of a 31⁄2"W x 8"L strip near the edge. Lay the second towel on a flat surface, right side up. Flip the towel right side down. Fold the towel in half, wrong sides together. Dream Catcher Collection - EVERYDAY EMMA.

I really like the look of dream catchers. There's just something so whimsical about them. I've been wanting to start a collection to hang above my bed. Originally I had thought about hanging a collection of antlers above my bed... but then I decided that I valued my eye balls too much. What if the antlers fell down one night? The larger ones were SUPER easy to make once I had the supplies. Free Halloween Crafts, Recipes & DIY Ideas : Halloween.Tipnut.com.

Making tassels « home sweet homemade. Homemade tassels are a wonderful way to add an extra special touch to a gift — wrapped around the neck of wine bottle or bag of coffee beans. I generally make them from jute twine or cotton string. The rustic look of jute twine appeals to my love of contrasting textures. I keep this one in the bedroom dangling from the desk lamp. last weekend at the shore, I spent several hours walking among the dunes looking for seashells and was happy to find enough to fill my pail.

I’m always thankful to find extra small seashells that I can use for embellishing homemade items. today I decided to make a jute tassel with one of those tiny seashells. I like a simple top finish on my tassels, so I use a button. . (1) start by wrapping jute around a piece of cardboard, about the size of a greeting card – about 30-35 wraps for a fluffy tassel. (2) Secure one end by gathering all the loops in a snug knot tied with a separate piece of twine. . (3) Slide the tassel off the card and cut the looped ends.
