Arrow and The Flash Can't Mention Gotham City or Metropolis

By Eric GoldmanWe now definitively know that the DC Comics-based films won’t exist in the same universe as the DC TV shows – including the ever-expanding world that the popular Arrow and The Flash TV series take place in. And with the announcement of an upcoming Flash movie, starring Ezra Miller (as opposed to the TV show’s Grant Gustin), it does beg the question of just how much Warner Bros. and DC are wiling to allow multiple live-action versions of their characters to exist at the same time, in different mediums and what characters there might be limitations on.

Unfortunately for those hoping to see the Dark Knight show up on the shows, Arrow and Flash executive producer Andrew Kreisberg stressed that anything you see referencing Batman on the show is “a tease.” Explained Kreisberg, “Obviously, they have the Batman movies and there’s [the series] Gotham.
