Working out of a two bedroom home without a designated office can also mean a perpetually messy house. After letting my sister stay in our secondary bedroom/office for a few months after she graduated college, I began working from my kitchen table, living room, breakfast bar, patio, you name it. My house was constantly strewn with fabric samples, paint swatches, floor plans, and stacks upon stacks of paper. It was a MESS. Now that our extra bedroom is free, I am looking forward to creating a more functional office space that doubles as a guest bedroom. Anchoring a simple wood top directly to the wall can be a great way to save space (and money if you DIY) in tight areas or awkward spaces. I love the size of this table. Since the office will also be our guest bedroom, rolling storage units would offer the benefit of easily moving around or removing bulky pieces when we have guests stay over.

This vase is actually handmade by me in ceramics class and is one of my first pieces ever. It looks very mid-century modern, it must be the shape, the colours and of course the shellac technique. Shellac is a natural varnish that has been used by man for ages. You 'paint' with shellac on dry clay. Your 'shellac design' will resist on your object. Just imagine, this is one of thousands of ceramic techniques to be explored.
