Charles Petit égrène volontiers les noms de ses appareils, comme pour vous raconter ses compagnons de route : le Kodak Brownie, le Foca, le Zenith, jusqu’au Nikon F, acquis, adolescent avec le fruit de la vente d’un livre de Man Ray trouvé au hasard de ses errances dans un couvent désaffecté dans le 5ème arrondissement. A l’âge de 16 ans, Charles commence à vagabonder les rues de Paris, puis au gré des voyages, photographie Londres, Milan, Vienne.

For some, emigration to the cities is a future option but for many their future is tied to their land, their families and their ancestral routes. A few very powerful routines dominate the daily existence of these students: football for boys and long hair for girls function as status symbols replacing those consuming goods and articles that dominate teenage life in the cities of the globalized world.
