Simply Vintagegirl Blog » Blog Archive » A Homemade Christmas – #1 – Practical Perpetual Calendar. 23 October 2008 Welcome to the first A Homemade Christmas! This is week One of Ten (you don’t have to enter in each one). I hope you’ll join us in sharing about homemade gifts that you have received or made — past, present, and future! You can click here for the Introductory post. This calendar will last a very long time, which makes it a great gift. It has a bit of a vintage look to it. Each date is put together with decoupage glue (we use Mod Podge) with the scrapbook paper in the background, and the numbers stuck down on top of that. To make the holes, I took a piece of vellum and cut it out the same size and the background paper.

I laid the vellum template on top of each finished date, and marked (with a permanent) the spot where the hole was to be. My wonderful daddy put holes in the tin lids, and cut out the months. The months are actually cut-outs from the sides of large tin cans (you can slightly see the ripples in the middle). Have you made or received any homemade gifts? Lace : Weddingo. DIY England Wedding | Whimsical England Wedding | DIY UK Wedding | Real Weddings Blog. The first thing that caught my eye about Hannah’s wedding was her awesome baby’s breath bouquet wrapped with colorful ribbon. I had never seen anything like it before and thought it was absolutely beautiful. Hannah and Dave were married almost 5 years ago, but looking through their lovely images it is clear to me they were definitely ahead of the times when it came to throwing a DIY wedding on a budget.

I absolutely adored Hannah’s description of their celebration… We were young, ridiculously, maybe even naively in love, with no money. Photography via Seeds and Stitches. Claire Pettibone Wedding Dresses and Lingerie | Claire Pettibone Wedding | New Sponsor Blog. Before we jump right into posts for today, I wanted to take this morning to introduce one of our newest advertisers to the site, Claire Pettibone.

You’ve probably seen her wedding dresses grace the pages of the many weddings blogs and magazines, but did you know she also has an equally beautiful lingerie collection? I have to admit I usually prefer simple dresses over more ornate ones, but Claire Pettibone strikes a perfect balance with her detailing. Not only are Claire’s dresses very delicate and whimsical, but they are so comfortable to wear and you don’t get that stuffiness feeling when you try them on like you do with a typical ornate wedding dress.

So so pretty… Above is just a small sampling of her lovely designs, but if you are in the market for a whimsical wedding dress or beautiful nightie I would highly suggest checking out more of her collections here and here.
