Mixed Media Bee Canvas by Anna-Karin Evaldsson. Instructions Hi everyone!

Mixed Media Bee Canvas by Anna-Karin Evaldsson

It is Anna-Karin here with you today and I am so happy to be back on the Ranger blog. This time I made a mixed media canvas, using Dina Wakley’s wonderful Media Acrylic Paint, and her stamps and stencils. I am also going to show a technique with Ranger’s Texture Tools. This is the finished projects, a happy summer canvas with an important message. Start by coating your surface with gesso, using a palette knife. When the gesso is dry, stamp the background repeatedly with a dot and a sentiment stamp. Coat the stamped surface with another thin layer of gesso. Make a little puddle of Sky and White paint, one with only Sky, and one with Lapis.

Use the Essentials stencil and rub some of the paint off with a moist cloth. Smear Texture Paste through the larger bee from the Insects stencil with a palette knife. Smear Texture Paste at the bottom of the canvas, in a relatively thick layer. Pushing The Right Buttons: Monochromatic at Frilly and Funkie. Hello and welcome!

Pushing The Right Buttons: Monochromatic at Frilly and Funkie

Today it's the turn of the Funkie side of the DT at Frilly and Funkie to present their projects for the latest challenge 'Monochromatic'. Here's what our host Cec has to say; "This one is called Monochromatic and I want to see a shabby chic and vintage project that uses basically one colour and its various hues and tones - a little white or cream can be added but unless that is the main colour, it needs to be just an accent. The winner will earn the chance of a Guest DT spot at Frilly and Funkie, and everyone who enters and follows the rules will be entered into the draw to have the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. So, there were a number of fabulous projects from the Frilly side of the team featuring shades of blue and, despite the urge to use some of the fabulous teal hues I love to reach for, this time it's shades of brown taking the spotlight (and yes, I've been journalling, again!)... Mixed Media Place: Keeper of keys

Box for keys - a true masterpiece.Who wouldn't like to hang Pascale's beauty on the wall ? Hello Sweeties Today I'm up on Mixed Media Place blog with a new "recycling" project. I had since forever a key box at home, you know the kind of object we use every day but stop notice, and at the same time I caught myself looking if I did not find a more "modern". I started to cover the wood panel with 3 layers of heavy Gesso. Meanwhile the background was drying, I worked on the wings. Then I glued frame, chest and wings to the panel. In The Rain

I’m here with my weekly creation for Artistic Outpost. Today I’m sharing a card that I made with our new Springtime stamp set. We had quite the rainy week here in the mountains of North Idaho, so, this card seemed just perfect. This quote & these kids are the images that drove the inspiration for this card. Ain't That Artsy Fartsy. HELLO & Happy (late) Saturday night & Happy Sunday!!

Ain't That Artsy Fartsy

For the next couple of days, I’ll be working on several different time zones and right now, I’m watching the CDT clock tick to midnight, which means I’m here with my weekly Artistic Outpost creation to end the month with! WOW–it is the end of the month, isn’t it!! Holy Moly–Where did the last 30 days go, well, Gosh–where did the last 5 months go?! Before the month finishes out without me, I’m sharing one of the cards that I made for the New Release Blog Hop that we had on the 20th. Full of Possibilities. Happy Sunday, again!!

Full of Possibilities

I’m back in my own PDT-time zone for this post and before the month really ends without me, I’m sharing my version of Tim’s Tag of May!! I actually got it together and am making it just under the wire, with only hours to spare! WHEW!! I don’t have all of the goodies that Tim used to create his gorgeous tag, but, it was fun to improvise with what I did have.

Let me show you what I did on my version of Tim’s Tag for May! I had to make some provisions for not having any of Tim’s Ephemera packs or the exact same embellies, and I may have changed up the flowers a bit, too. Ain't That Artsy Fartsy. HELLO HELLO!!

Ain't That Artsy Fartsy

Layers of ink: Mesh Bird Canvas Tutorial

I have a Sizzix tutorial to share with you today, it is a mixed media canvas, but the techniques would work for any type of project. I wanted to show how you can use the same shape repeatedly on a project for a great effect. I needed another canvas for a friend and used the same sentiment on a canvas from last week, since I liked it so much when it comes to friends who are far away. I've been having lots of fun with some new dies, embossing folders, stamps and stencils by Tim Holtz. My favourite die from Tim's new release is probably the Bird Silhouette die, and I wanted to make the bird the star of this project. The pattern that is repeated on this canvas is a mesh pattern, and I used these four products: Mesh stencil, Mesh stamp, Mesh texture fade, and the Wave Frameworks die, which also has a mesh shape.

Hello wonderful Finnabair friends. For my project this month I’ve combined my love for ‘faces’, ‘repeat pattern’ ( in this case the Hexagon ) and the look of ‘Mica Powder’ on metal. I’m sure I am not alone when, at times, I feel like my life is just too busy, too demanding of my time, my emotions and my energy……my fault entirely….but sometimes I really worry that I have “not got it all together”…..I feel FRAGMENTED . Too many ideas, too many decisions, too many rights, too many wrongs and never enough time for any of it. Ranger Ink and Innovative Craft Products. Instructions. Eclectic Paperie: Becoming...
