WOO HOO!! It’s going to be a fun month here at Ain’t That Artsy Fartsy and it begins with a new challenge month at Our Creative Corner!! I’ve really been looking forward to this challenge, to let my inner dark side come out for a play, with our Hostess Laura’s, theme this month–HEEEEERE’S Laura!! “Forget cute cats and smiling pumpkins….We want…. For this Halloween, share with us some horror inspired creations that are sure to send shivers down our spines. Bring out your most grotesque stamps and embellishments, or perhaps take on the challenge of finding a way to transform pretty stamps into something macabre. Can you scare us?” Well, I’ll certainly try, Laura– I took Laura’s theme to heart, that of the darkest kind it seems, and created this art journal page full of macabre, with a bit of black humor, too, to soften the blow, so to speak.

I started this page on the plane to oklahoma. i had found this really cool image in a magazine and loved it but didnt want to just adhere it to the blank page. i tore it into strips and glued the strips to the page out of order. then added 1/2" wide making tape between the strips... i love the way the strips went back together out of sequence. i am definitely going to try this technique again!
