The directors of the National Malus Collection invited Heatherwick Studio to develop the design of this structure, called "The Sitooterie", for their site in Essex. Illuminated cubes, visual effects and electronic beats: these are the ingredients of the Kubik temporary open air clubs in Berlin and Barcelona. The dynamic space, light and sound sculpture is based on standard industrial liquid storage tanks. The incorporation of a light bulb turns the plastic tanks into giant luminaires, which can be stacked and arranged to form objects of varying sizes and shapes.

mundus V Teresa and Helena Jané, aka THJané , have a very cool jewelry line that is a mixture of contemporary ceramic work and traditional African weaving techniques. The ceramic pieces are handmade and painted by Teresa and Helena. The weaving makes the pieces feel very organic and almost insect-like.

The RAD e builds a bridge from the automaker Opel’s origins in bicycle manufacturing to its current position as the transportation producer of the future. The RAD e is the first e-bike designed around automotive production methods. It is made of hollow pressed-steel which is light, strong, flexible and easy to make. The pedelec drive of the RAD e is based on a state-of-the-art 250 Watt electric motor, powered by a lithium-ion battery. It provides an electrically-assisted range of 60 to 140 km, depending on the terrain.

Just a few quick updates. I added Priority Mail as a shipping option. I finally documented that widget I made last year and put it on Shapeways (as well as a smaller version , it's about $40 total). I also added it to The Pirate Bay 's new Physibles category. I think they may be jumping the gun a little in thinking this will have much effect in subverting traditional manufacturing any time soon, but who knows what the future holds? It feels right to be there.
