Schrifttafeln über den Hauseingängen künden von reger Geschäftstätigkeit im Viertel: "Fahr- und Motorräder, gegründet 1907" steht über einem der Läden, "Schindler's Blumenhallen" über einem anderen oder auch "Vereinsdruckerei und Verlagsanstalt". Auf der Straße jedoch ist niemand zu sehen. Der Mann hält inne, sucht einen Standplatz fürs Stativ und richtet die Kamera auf den Straßenzug. Für einen Moment fühlt sich der Designer und Fotograf Koppelkamm wie auf einer Zeitreise. Wäre es allerdings nach der gerade abgesetzten DDR-Führung gegangen, würde der gebürtige Saarländer in diesem Sommer, 1990, nicht in der Görlitzer Altstadt stehen.

On top of the vintage colours and graphics, the taglines for each social networking platform were crafted accordingly in relation to that period of time too.

Charting the working processes of early 21st-century designers As a lasting souvenir of the first AGI Open conference, which took place in Porto last week, organizers Lizá Ramalho and Artur Rebelo edited and designed a book titled — like the conference itself — ‘Process Is the Project’, writes Jan Middendorp. The book is a catalogue of the exhibition ‘Mapping the Process’ (co-curated by architect André Tavares), which is being held at Porto’s charming Palacete Pinto Leite, a former music school, until 10 November.
