My mac desktop always had too much stuff blocking the view, but i just found "camouflage" - it hides everything on your desktop _everything_ including HD icons leaving you with a completely empty screen. if you want to see your desktop you can doubleclick anywhere on your beautiful wallpaper and it will open a finder window with the contents of your desktop. only been using it for a few days but i am really liking it a lot. it's perfect for people like me who like the idea of a clean uncluttered workspace but have trouble throwing things away or finding the proper place for everything. come to think of it, i could probably use a real life 'camouflage' for my house. I've heard of camouflage and it sounds great for people who have a lot of icons on their desktop.

The black borders are actually still included in the "Enigma" package; they're just hidden. All you have to do is increase the Alpha Blending value of the elements Bottom and Bottom Line to 192, and of Side and Side Line, to 163. @splttingatms: Most of that sheet is specific to my personal desktop, but you're welcome to take what you want. @bver100: Just base yours on the 1024x768 config. @nitzua: I think it's safe to say that the kind of "customization" you're talking about is a step beyond mine.
I've started to look through those [Customize.org] shots. One other note: I did try Litestep a couple of years ago, and that experience is actually where these impressions were born.
