Thanks to feedback from forum visitors James and iBeetle and their reaction to yesterday’s iPod EQ and you, I’ve determined to use the next couple of Today@Playlist entries to explain some of the more confusing elements of the effects found in iTunes and on the iPod.

Today we turn to Sound Check. For those who haven’t explored the option, Sound Check is a feature introduced in iTunes 3 and iPod Software 1.2 Updater that attempts to balance the volume of the music in iTunes and on your iPod. The idea is that if you play a Chopin Nocturne and Zep’s “Dazed and Confused” in succession, you shouldn’t have to fiddle with the volume as both tracks will be at approximately the same volume. To keep tracks from distorting, Sound Check imposes a limiter when they near saturation. That’s the theory, anyway. In reality, Sound Check balances volume on a per-track basis, which results in the quiet tracks on an album being approximately the same volume as the louder tracks.

Best Overdrive Pedal. Robert's Recommended Blues Albums Here are some great guitar albums that I love listening to. You can preview these on Amazon too. Hope you enjoy! <A HREF=" December 12, 2009 What is the best overdrive pedal? I have started a top overdrive list here, and I am trying to stick to pedals that deliver overdrive more than distortion, although many pedals cover both territories. My personal favorite overdrive is the Maxon OD-9. Some other good overdrive choices in my opinion are The CTO2 - Cool Cat Transparent Overdrive2 - low gain pedal with lots of dynamics. Best Overdrives - the LIST Here is a starting point for checking out some great overdrive pedals. Have a look at the list of best wah pedals too.

Vertigo X Review | Fernandes | Electric Guitars | Reviews. Price paid: $ 550 Purchased from: Lipkings Music Features: The Vertigo that I purchances was a few years old and the model had been discontinued, I'm not sure of the year.

This Deluxe model has 22 jumbo frets and a Tune-O-Matic bridge, the sustain goes on for days. The finish is a red quilted top, the body style is really undiscribable a far as words. The diference between my model and the new models is mine comes with EMG humbuckers that are splitable, for that single coil sound, and the New model has invaders, and I've seen afew with built in effects but not my model. The tuners are just basic tuners, nothing special there. The only case this guitar will fit in is the case that is made for it. Sound: I play mostly hard rock and metal types sounds and the punch this guitar gives is unstoable far as playablity. Action, Fit & Finish: I told the story about the tornado and how the guitar was in almost perfect condishion. Monterey Elite Review | Fernandes | Electric Guitars | Reviews.

G-400 Review | Epiphone | Electric Guitars | Reviews. Takamine EG440SC | Page 2 | reviews. In the beginning, Takamine was the name of a craggy old mountain outside the Japanese town of Sakashita. It seemed a strange place to set up a business making handcrafted acoustic guitars, but that's exactly what happened in 1962 when a family of luthiers opened their premises in the foothills. Logically enough, the fledgling company took its name from the mountain and thus Takamine was born.

Over a 44-year timeline studded with guitar innovations, awards and artist endorsements, Takamine has become one of the most prominent names in the acoustic guitar sector. You could argue that Takamine's success is down to the sheer quality of their premium instruments (built in Japan to shit-kickingly high standards). We would counter that it's equally down to their G-Series: the entry-level range of Chinese instruments that was introduced several years ago to blanket acclaim.

Overview This guitar boasts a neat finish. We did find that the gold tuners gave a slightly jerky adjustment of pitch. Sounds.
