Hughes, who was the chief digital organiser for Obama's 2008 presidential campaign, says that the platform allows people to connect with their favorite causes and organisations that support them. The platform is designed not only to help charitable and non-profit organisations to get donations but also to allow them to connect with people willing to support their cause. According to The New York Times, Hughes believes that Jumo will be able to do for organisations what Yelp did for restaurants. Starting with around 3,000 issues and groups, Jumo will allow people to create pages for their own causes and garner support from fellow members.
